Flippin. But I've heard that the 'Hawaiian' Nakayoshi Red Jack was made in very limited numbers. Like the number of fingers on your hands. One of these just sold for way, way less. I hope this guy wasn't the winning bid.
Thanks for the clarification, is this a M1? I couldnt make it out from the google translate

The maker is Nakayoshi.

As you can tell from their website, it's been a while since anything new has been released.

Not flippin...it is really rare and limited in numbers. This pink vinyl, Hawaiian Nakayoshi Red Jack
is stunning! Mine cost me quite a bit...not as much as the YJA one but not cheap.

That's a pretty interesting toy. It says it was made during the WWII era.

Whats a million yen like 100,000 USD? Thats nuts. Nostalgia is an expensive business...

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here
Nostalgia is definitely expensive lol 1mil yen is $10k It's a lot for a toy, but then again considering the average golf club membership in Jpn is minimum ~$10-15k(with yearly fees) and a discounted members price for a round is ~$100... Gas prices btw are closer to $6 a gallon.

There are some serious collectors in Japan with DEEP pockets.

Where do you think all the mortgage broker fees that fed the mortgage crisis in the U.S. went to Seriously, a very cool vintage toy store owner in NYC put it all in perspective: When it comes to vintage stuff that goes for insane amounts, 9 times out of 10 it's some investment banker or someone involved in the stock market.

Most of the guys I see buying the crazy stuff in japan are guys with good jobs, but not stock market types. Not sure who bought this, but everyone I talked to had never seen or heard of this toy before. Crazy!

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here
while there may be one or two that are harder to get than others, these are fairly easy to find. it works out to approx. $40.00 each which is not a great price although you do get the convenience of getting them all at once.
I happen to love these mini tiger mask figures and have several of the ones pictured.

Unpainted black test shot of the Marmit Balzas. Went for more than I thought it would (but not as much as the RxH).
