I think the guy bought a packet of RIT dye, dyed the figure and is trying to pass it off as a unique prototype or one-off.

That guy sells a lot of stuff, and some good stuff, so I really wonder if that is the case. Seems unlikely he would do that, especially with the Japanese sellers code of honor etc.... Only one person knows for sure I guess.

I remember seeing a red skullbrain in someones collection along time ago, but I just assumed it was a custom job.

This one looks totally dyed. Clear red is usually alot darker like the cure skullbee.

As an aside - would that RIT dye work on the hard plastic of say a Henshin or those bodies that are coming with the Skulltoy suits?

There was something very similar to this in one of the big lots of SB that hte ubiquitous MrSparkle won. So either this came out of that lot - or there's more than one of these, which would seem to indicate something more "for real". Has anyone ran the item desription through a translator?

Yeah Hyper's dyed blob is cool...but even if this is an "authentic" proto or something, it's not really doing much for me...

I'm in love with clear toys, so that pinky red Skullbrain is da shizz for me - but I won't be paying that kind of crazy money for it.

Certainly not when you could dye a clear one yourself to match that color.

Muton - I think those Henshin 99's come in that colour no?
At any rate, I did a quick search and there appears to be products out there to dye hard plastics. Could be fun to play with dyes on some of those bodies Skulltoys are using now.

As for this little brain, it seems lacking. Needs to be more vibrant I think. Maybe it's the pic. Translucent vinyl seems to be a very vibrant material. Look at the orange and red used on Blobpus recently.

Thats not a 99, its a neo-henshin, and they definitely didn't come in that color, and neither did the 99's. I'm sure this is a custom.

Yup - I've got some orange and some fuschia dye that I've been waiting to whip out on a Skull Brain.

This is the translation I get:

I don't think he says it is a prototype. It just says this was not for sale.
