All this means is that we get priced out, cant afford the toys we love.
We get relegated to the back seat behind mister McRich.
We already know its a great artform.
We dont need no stinkin rich I FART A LOT.
I just saw those prices its kind of depressing because some of those, are toys I have always wished to own. But now, no way.
(end whiney rant)

ok, I'll admit this is VERY depressing and scary for collectors. I truly didn't think bidders would be gullible enough to make the same mistake twice. But the eyezon in this auction (with the 25% buyer's premium) sold for $2k!
It's a mass produced item that if you take 10 seconds, you can find it several places on the web for 100th of the price. This auction is a very bizarre phenomenon.
Note to self: Don't ever buy anything at an auction without first doing 30 seconds of research.

That Eyezon was a custom one off but still, $2K?? It really is freakin scary if the Kaiju scene had a sudden upsurge of rich folks seeking these pieces and altering it's category from toy to art. My only wish is that companies and reputable customizers won't go along with this scene.
