Tsuburaya productions probably didn't want these type of toys to flood the domestic Jpnese market specially with all the quality ones already available and being made in Jpn.

Does cost of production the main reason why these were produced in China? Cheaper probably?

Getting things made in Japan is difficult. The good factories have a filled schedule that is a year or two long. You just can't contact a factory. They wont talk to you directly unless you have a rep there with some pull to introduce you. Cheaper? not in the end cause the Chinese factories have a high minimum than Japanese factories.

Don't think that the Japanese is disallowing this toy just because its made in China folks. There could be a licensing agreement that prevents maxtoy from selling these toys in Japan. LOTS of toys in Japan are made in China. The factory I use has 90% percent of the products they manufacture going exclusively to the Japanese market. I was surprised to see many of my international customers coming from Japan,,I mean they have soo many bots there. One went so far as to suggest that I attend one of the toy festivals . The Japanese just aren't as big of a snob like us when it comes to western, Chinese toys.

If I'm not mistaken all of Max Toys original sculpts are made in China.

They really did a great job on these. You forget that it's made in China if that even an issue really. Header, backing card art, rounds out the package. I really dig it. My first Booska, I hope the make more colorways.

So the quality of the vinyl is ok? Is it kinda soft or more rigid?

yeah top notch release. for the price you can't beat it.

the quality of the vinyl is very, very nice. It's definitely a step up from the vinyl used to make the eyezons - which, while i love that toy, the vinyl does have a somewhat cheaper feeling to it.

the vinyl used on these is definitely heavy and stiff but still feels like vinyl rather than plastic. It's not at the level of M1 or Gargamel (what other company is?) but it's at least as good as Marmit's most recent releases.

I'm very, very happy with this - i think it looks better in person and I really hope they'll do more colorways. Something in florescent colors would be cool!
