getting ready to take the stage. There are all these rope like things hanging over the stage. I wish my iPhone worked better b/c this is one of the geekiest things I have done and it rocks

 Re: posting from radiohead show!
I was going to try to get tix to the Indy show, but they were already out like 15 minutes after they went on sale. I've already seen them once with 'grass/field' seats, so i was trying to grab some real seats for a change.
Did you catch the 'In The Basement' show on VH1 for them? It was pretty good, but catch it in HD if you can, it looks much better.

 Re: posting from radiohead show!
back now. that was the best concert i have been to in a long time. they sounded fantastic, and the lights/stage show were phenomenal
the rope things hanging down were like giant LED strings that would display different colors and patterns through the whole show
and there was a series of 5 or so screens across the backdrop that would show close up video of the band as they were playing from various angles. sometimes the video was in high contrast, reversed colors... it was like a music video
they didn't play my favorites (let down and lucky from OK computer) but i guess the show asnt all about me, so that's ok. haha
no video because my iphone has been neglected and the battery died soon into the show. i am ready to take that thing back. stupid at&t

 Re: posting from radiohead show!
well, i am home from my trip to see radiohead for the second time in one weekend.
and it was the worst concert experience of my life.
worst because i did not even get to see radiohead.
first of all it was pouring rain monsoon-style pretty much as soon as we crossed the state line north into virginia. we had looked at the weather reports beforehand and knew we were in for some bad weather, but this was the worst rain i have seen in a few years here in this area
outside of the heavy rain, the driving was smooth sailing until north of richmond where the traffic simply came to a halt. no reason other than congestion on a sunday afternoon i assume, but it turned our 4 hour trip into a 6.5 hour trip.
it was still a downpour by the time we got close to our hotel in dumfries, va, so we decided to stop and check in and wait out the rain a little. we checked weather channel and saw it wasnt going to let up, so we just left for the show around 8 accepting the fact that we were going to get wet. we were about 15 miles from the nissan ampitheater, so assumed going in late that the traffic will have died down some and we could get there in 30 mins or so.
all was well until the now infamous BALLS FORD ROAD. traffic at a standstill. iphone told us to turn righton wellington road.... but there is a big glowing sign there that says ROAD CLOSED FLOODING
great
so 2 hours pass with us moving an average of 4 mph maybe... 10:15 rolls around and according to iphone we are still about a mile away. radiohead would stop playing at 10:45 so we just gave up. there were TONS of people that missed this show thanks to some shit roads in that area
we went to eat, and on the way back to the hotel in the still pouring rain, listened to the red sox lose again to the twins.
just as we were pulling into the hotel, my XM beeps letting me know that a band i have "bookmarked" is on another channel. my friend hits the button to change it.... and it was radiohead
i almost steered the car into a telephone pole
so fuck you virginia city planners and civil engineers.

 Re: posting from radiohead show!
Hey Pickleloaf, Did you see this posting on the waste site- Nissan Pavilion Due to Sunday night's torrential rain storm and consequential multiple road closures, many fans were unable to reach the Nissan Pavilion. While acknowledging a lack of control over the ensuing flooding and detours, the members of Radiohead are nevertheless disappointed regarding this turn of events. For further inquiries, ticketholders who didn't get in are urged to contact: customerservice@nissanpavilion.com

 Re: posting from radiohead show!
i would bet that at least 1/4 of the people who paid for that show didn't make it
the latest i heard actually is that livenation is not offering refunds
you can go see another lawn show at the nissan pavilion (great... i know radiohead fans will love going to see a shit dave matthews band concert or something like that)
or tickets for radiohead on the lawn in camden NJ
that is about 9 hours from here so we definitely cant make that
that really sucks for the people who had the 60 dollar pavilion seats.... lawn seats 3 hours away as an exchange
i think we're going to get the NJ tix and sell them on ebay

 Re: posting from radiohead show!
Just got back from the Dallas show. Beautiful weather for Texas. 69 degrees with no humidity.
It's been a long while since I've been to a sold out pavilion show so I really misjudged how long it would take to get to the venue and find parking. Missed Liars which was a disappointment but made it to song number 2 of the Radiohead set.
Thom Yorke is the real deal. Boy can sing. And who'd a thunk that he's got some pretty dope dance moves too.
As you can see from Pickleloaf's post, it's a very post Ok Computer-centric setlist. It was my first time seeing them and I was beginning to worry if Paranoid Android had fallen off their rotation but they closed with it and it knocked my socks off.
The light show was bonkers. Had a brief opportunity to talk to the lighting guy but didn't get a chance to ask what kind of fixtures they had onstage.
Also got to see the new Indiana Jones movie this morning. Great weekend!
