If it stated in the description while it listed, that is not a fake I think.

Custom / fake / bootleg - seems to be very hazey around this figure.

Im assuming this is why the auction was 'pulled'?

Looks like the real one is painted white around the waist area, but the one pull off from yja is not.

apparently it got sold - but offline. I have never quite understood how that works - but can understand why high rollers may want to keep a low profile.

they usually offer them a price in the Q&A. I saw it a few times with the same guy asking. And it then get pull off a few hours later.

Here's hoping the buyer paid $1000, and next month S7 has 'em to sell by the boxload.

Regardless of new v. old it's an epic design, this and the matching Head deserve a real run.

I don't get it... so this blue fade was officially released?

The eyes look badly painted compared to stealthtanks pic.

I hate to say it, but apparently it seems like an official run will not happen. As most know, Stealthtank and I absolutely worshiped the Head and Evil set of these when we were at the shop....urging Mori to produce them. During our trip however, more details surfaced that about 7 or 8 of the Evil were produced as prototypes, and given as gifts only, quite a while ago........with no plans to do a larger regular release. The Head is a one-off, as we understand it. The problem: apparently the fade of the paint design is very difficult to produce with consistent quality.

If there's one very remarkable thing that I learned on our visits to the RxH shop, it is that Mori has a tremendous amount of pride apparent in his creations, and is quite the stickler for quality when producing his toys. I've seen some posts about painting inconsistencies, and can only say that these must have squeaked by. During one of the conversations that I was nudging around the subject of run sizes (with my buddy Jun translating), Mori explained to us that he is very keen to point out even the most subtle flaws in the vinyl itself, BEFORE he sends the figures off to the painters. Then, the painting phase of production is even more challenging, as he has only 2 aging "specialist painters" or artisans that he uses for his toys, whose eyes aren't what they used to be. These are also the same artisans painting the new minis, which to me are amazing simply because of the amount of detail realized in such a small figure.

RxH is indeed a treat! Appreciate those hand painted toys!!!!

Thanx logang1 for an awesome insight into the production of these toys.
Sad news about the blue/clear Evil and Head though.

You never urge, or tell a Japanese person how to run their business. You can only ask or request things politely (even that is pushing a bit) and when they refuse your request. You never bring it up again. Most, if not all, Japanese are very proud of what they produce which is probably one of the biggest factors in why their quality of products is so high. It is great that logang and stealthtank get to experience this and share their time with us. Someday, I'll make the trip...hopefully with a friend of mine who speaks Japanese and do the same.

I'm sure you guys were polite...but I'm wondering, did you guys have to change your pants often from wetting yourselves at the figures?

i know i'm gonna catch shit for saying this about the almighty rxh, but for being so worried about spray consistancy and quality control...what's up with this:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=21237

i understand nothing is perfect but it seems like an odd statement when presented with those pics of the jinger

I have one currently sat in a hold box in JPN . . . I'm hoping it looks considerably cleaner than that! :(

There's no shit to catch. I'm sure some will be less than perfect here an there. Mine looks clean. I will post some pics in that topic.

I'm sure that if some people are indeed so dissatisfied with the paint on this figure, they would have no trouble selling them. It was a relatively small run.

This thread is completely off topic at this point....
