That's what strikes me about my local Wal-Mart. I live in a fairly affluent, predominantly WASPy Northern New Jersey suburb, but whenever I go to my local Wal-Mart it is teeming with folks I had no idea lived around here. It's like they bussed them all in from rural Pennsylvania.

(I realize that this post sounds snobby as all hell, but I'm really not passing judgement on these people. I love them, especially that amazingly hot girl I saw last week with the cobalt blue eyes and her name tattooed in script on her neck. It's just that they clash drastically with the established human landscape around here.)

It's a strange feeling, somewhat like examining the piled of fried insects left underneath a bug zapper on a summer morning. You had no idea that there could be so many of them.

I'll say this about Wal Mart: In the middle of no where, where I live, I can't find cheaper ANYTHING. So I go, I don't care. Also $4 generic prescriptions no insurance needed? Fuck yeah!

As far as editing covers? No, THEY should, at their own cost, put some sort of extra cover on it if they don't want to display it. BUT I guess so many people buy crap from them and they sell so many they can make those demands.

And ps Chi-town, I'm in that I FART A LOT in 2 weeks! And isn't there a Wal Mart in city limits now? I think on the Southside.

I don't shop at wal-mart but I understand why people shop there. Basically you can buy everything you need from one store for a very cheap price and for a lot of people that is very important.

For those of you who buy toys at Wal-Mart, here's something they don't want you to know: their cost on those items is sometimes higher than their price. They may have paid about $8 for that Serpentor figure they're selling to you for $6.

Why? Because they can put these loss-leaders at the back of the store, and while you're on the way there and back, you decide that you need socks, toilet paper, Cheese Nips, etc., and those are the items that they do make a big profit on.

Now you know.

And knowing is half the battle.
