 Re: KAWS ?
---NT--- wrote: The problems with those pink customs is that they only use two shades of pink. If you look at the grey and brown companions there are three and four shades used respectively. It appears that motorbot tried to fix one of the mistakes made with the first one where the torso was darker than the shorts, but there's still only two shades of pink. The skull should be the lightest shade, followed by the bones/torso/legs, then the shorts/shoes are the darkest. the black is only 1 shade.... lol who cares.... either way, they are nice customs.

 Re: KAWS ?
Meh. I don't particularly care for them. But I think they would have been stronger had they paid attention to which pieces received which shades...woulda been more cohesive and fit in a little bit better. But I see no reason to add another colorway to the original dark / regular / light trio.

Kaws did a print of a pink OG companion in 1999...this may be why you see that people did customs using the pink colorway idea...I for one wish he had made the toy in pink like the print as well... would kill for it actually, for one of the prints too...

 Re: KAWS ?
Yeah, I know of that print. Still, IMO there is zero need for KAWS customs. The Companions, 5YLs, and Chums are perfect in the editions that were released - any customization detracts from the originals and sticks out like a sore thumb.

I think of the KvP Companions as a Pushead release rather than a KAWS release. Seriously, they fit in with Pusheads stuff WAY MORE than they fit in with KAWS' stuff. And KAWS really didn't do anything other than allow Pushead/Cosmo Liquid to go to town on his character.

 Re: KAWS ?
If it's the Japanese auction site I went to, I couldn't find it there. Perhaps that's more due to the fact that I'm dim than it not being there...
