I grew up on those bugs as a kid in Jpn.
They sell them at pet stores and back in the day for 500-700yen
But you can also find them in the forests and parks n stuff there.
I didn't know they jacked up the prices lol, Bug flippers :lol:

Maybe its because its the hercules beetle which I think is rarer.
The beetlar bug is called the Kabutomushi(helmet-bug) or Rhino beetle.

The beetle stores over here are nuts... shelves upon shelves upon shelves of terrariums full of bugs and bags of $30 dirt (full of extra nutrition for the larva, you know). I think breeding beetles is just about as obsessive and expensive of a hobby as vinyl, and with how active a lot of those beetles are, you could almost mistake them for figures themselves :roll:

I had these giant Triceratops looking deals a few years back that had babies, which was pretty cool until I thought that I could leave the tank outside. We had a couple of rainy days and I found out that baby beetles don't swim very well. Gross.
