 Bo Diddley dies
AP/NPR/Wikipedia are reporting that Ellas Otha Bates, aka Bo Diddley died today.
He was a true pioneer, and a richly deserving Hall of Famer.
Love this story from Wikipedia, I'd not heard this one before -
"On November 20, 1955, he appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show only to infuriate the host. "I did two songs and he got mad," Bo Diddley later recalled. "Ed Sullivan said that I was one of the first colored boys to ever double-cross him. Said that I wouldn't last six months". Bo Diddley was asked to sing Tennessee Ernie Ford's hit "Sixteen Tons", but when he appeared on stage, he sang "Bo Diddley." He was banned from further appearances."

Too bad the world has lost another legendary player, RIP. At least he got the last laugh on Mr. Sullivan; six months, ha!

 Re: Bo Diddley dies
I grew up listening to Bo Diddley, My father is a folk musician and Bo is pretty much his favorite singer. Needless to say his records probably got replayed more than any others in my abode. RIP Bo

Hey, Bo Diddley!
I just read this on the news...another legend passes...There aren't too many people left like that---musicians associated with a particular style and sound that helped influence so many younger players...
RIP, Bo Diddley!

Gone but not forgotten...
