 Re: KAWS
Try and find a 99 mono without splotches, its doable (I have one) but really tough. They discolour over time.
If they do black I'll be gunning for it but a $3,000 mono thats apt to get yellow splotches over time... nah.

 Re: KAWS
Its cuz of that soft vinyl they use....its so porous. Its like an air sponge, just sucks up scents and anything floating by. 3000 for a 4 ft air sponge? nah i'll pass.

Yeah I'm shocked they went THAT fast also, not like the last release...I like the other colors way more also. There will definitely be some of these on ebay and i'm willing to bet that we'll see them for around retail in a month or so. But maybe not considering the 5yls go for 1100-1500, so this isn't that bad of a deal. Price went up also. They were 2759 or something shipped last time.

 Re: KAWS
Funny you should say that, because the Nexus wood Be@rbrick doesn't go for more than retail now either. Surprised too since its such a fantastic piece all the way and I love it.
AND it's wood, not soft vinyl so it isn't a sponge and it's got longevity baby....

 Re: KAWS
If i were ever to buy a kaws piece i think it would be a wooden bearbrick....I have a couple of bearbricks 400% already(Giger, English), and i love them. They seem like more of a blank canvas to me than other toy mediums. i find artists are able to express themselves on them a little more...distinctively than say a [expletive deleted].
ahaha toy2r product names are expletives? classic.

 Re: KAWS
Love the wooden be@rbricks.
Which does everyone like more the earlier light colored one or the newer dark Nexus one.

 Re: KAWS
The original Wood Bearbrick is awesome! Probably my favorite after my Chums. It's so classy looking. Didn't really care for the Nexus one.

 Re: KAWS
I think they're both exquisite, but for 1/2 the price I'll take the Nexus

 Re: KAWS
I guess it speaks to KAWS' still-rising popularity. Plus, the 5YL Companion is the purdyest vinyl sculpt out there in my humble opinion.

 Re: KAWS
The OF website has pics up of the Dissected Companion. Not sure if that means theres new T's with images of the figure on it. Maybe a new vinyl release of the figure?

Has he ever done tees with photos of vinyl on them? I think all the tees I've seen have reproduced either drawings or other 'flat' work, I don't remember any with pics of the toys. So maybe this is gonna be new vinyl - 4-foot Dissected? (I'd've expected the black 4-foot 5YL first, though).

 Re: KAWS
There is a shop here in Boston that sells OF stuff now and they had a few tees with photos on them the last time I was in there. Ridiculously overpriced of course, but they were there.

I remember shots of a t featuring a photo of a clear chum and another with a black original companion (?) on the OF site before it changed over to the newest releases...

 Re: KAWS
At the prices I'm seeing, I'm thinking about doing an evil thing. I believe that museum professionals call it "de-acquisitioning". Here, we refer to it as flipping. I could pretty much get my house rewired for 4 pieces. That's just crazy.
