 Re: RXH collections...
Do people collect for the love anymore, or is this a job you feel obligated to now ??
All these instant collections are wack. Sorry but that just my feelings. No love just big money floating around.

 Re: RXH collections...
That is an impressive collection, IH! favorites: GID, Pink, and green shelf. ...you scored the LS set...nice! that was something I always thought would be near impossible to do once they sold out. at least seeing them here gives me hope! I see you are getting into deathras too. those are great toys.

All these instant collections are wack. Sorry but that just my feelings. No love just big money floating around. I guess if there comes a day when we post or show our collections to people and collectors and they respond with a "so? a run size of 10?...well it doesnt surprise me...who would want them anyway?" then that would be the test. Anyway, only time will tell. All I know is that whether some love them or just love them right now or because other ppl love them doesnt matter; I just keep my eyes on the FS section, hope for good prices on the ones I want, and enjoy RxH for as long as I'm going to.

Rich, there is definitely still collecting for the love of it. I think that having pieces perennially evade your collection, combined with perhaps tapering off any semblance of a completist compulsion, while only collecting the figures that you really like, is where the answer truly lies. I think there is an initial excitement that washes over you for some of this stuff, before you can gain this perspective. How long that initial excitement lasts is different for everyone.....

Dude I'm a truck driver so please speak in words I understand What ever you say, I still think many here collect because they can not because they love it. And many have money that they can throw away because they want attention. Personally I think there is more "collectors" here that only buy because they want to hear people praise them for having a big collection, or rare items. Some of the biggest and hardcore collectors never show what they have no do they speak about it. Some of the most dedicated collectors only have a few figures because thats all they can afford. I just don't get the "update" collection shots when they are only weeks apart. Once a year should be fine. Its cool to show off a hard earned figure, but whats the deal with the race to get all you can in the shortest period of time and then racing to post pics to show off. Sonny said it best.... "No one cares" !

 Re: RXH collections...
almost 4000views a month... a lot of people seem to care--it's that or the same 10 people visit this thread way too many times in a day I know I'm guilty. ppl's collections change so much during the course of a year--mine did for a while--and though it may not be as exciting to some, I like frequent updates with new scores. There will always be people in it for the hunt and attention more so than a real interest in the toys, but I know if I had a lot of money, my collection would blow up a little faster than it is right now. just a different perspective. To add: I have to admit, sometimes when I see collections that seem to grow insanely fast, I wonder how someone would take it all in...I got my first package the other day that had 4 RxH figures in it (built up over a little time), and I felt like it was "overload"--I like to admire each figure for a while before the next one comes in. that's just me though. I'm a lightweight, i guess.
