 Re: Real x Head Customs
I really like the pinstriping on the Hone Borg. But the paint really takes away the attention from your work. The colors clash too much IMO. However, I'd still love to see one of these in person.

 Re: Real x Head Customs
i love your paint and stripes - - i just feel that with your paint apps and sick stripes - the 2 techniques compete to ultimately crush one another on these 3 here
too busy looking - id love to see these 3 painted as is with NO stripes - or - these 3 jet black with JUST stripes
thats my 2 cents - take it for what its worth.........what is next from DP i now ask?

 Re: Real x Head Customs
Thanks for the crits. My opinion is that i cant take very good pics. I have taken everyones suggestion about "enhancing the sculpt with my pinstripes". I do not feel that the paint app takes away from the striping and vice versa. They look waaay better in person. I will have similar pieces with me at sdcc so lets meet up and have a look together. I'll admit that this set is not a subtle purple violet so i'm just doing what i do. Maybe a few on this board who have pieces from me could explain in there words.

 Re: Real x Head Customs
I kind of agree with joe and manimal but one thing i do think is that it's great to see some different and new paint on the hone borg.
I really like the sculpt and it's just refreshing to see some great new colors.

 Re: Real x Head Customs
That Borg is really cool. I don't think the style "fits" the others as well, though it's cool, I think it works best on the Borg.

 Re: Real x Head Customs
Thanks Joel, I really aimed to do a somewhat different colorway. I kinda think it does look vintage. Also ,everyone who is filling up my inbox with pm's regarding this set. For anyone who is offended at my rates i'm sorry I don't use paint that costs $15 per color. My liquids runs into the hundreds per figure alone. I'm on here to show some of you what can be done from someone who enters the world of kaiju from the pinstriping and custom paint industry. For those of you who have asked what next am I going to do . I don't know but the borg is one of my favorite figs right now. So you'll just have to wait and see. Anyone who still is interested send a pm stating your interested. There are no secrets as to how to pinstripe other than practice, practice, practice. I pinstripe anything from a kaiju figure to a 100k motorcycle on any given day. Anyone who wants to come to my shop the door is open. Please keep the comments and crits coming in.

 Re: Real x Head Customs
It costs hundreds of dollars to paint just one figure? That can't be right.

 Re: Real x Head Customs
Like everyone else, the Hone Borg looks the best to me too. I think its because its gota bit of a motorcycle/skull/leather jacket vibe going on. Nicely done!

To me the evil and head look unfinished without some tastefully pinstriped armor on them.

 Re: Real x Head Customs
i have a few of Matt's customs and I personally think they are worth every penny. Not only the mettalic paints, but the rainbow holographic flake. But the real sweetness is the pinstriping. the detail is too nuts to believe... You just gotta see these guys in-hand. amazing....more Dead Prez pics this week...... I would buy them all if I could....
