I never understood why people are so worked up about RxH headers... they're basically the same across their respective figure types.

Well Jason - there looked to be another person after you dropped out that was still smoking!! And how is it shill bidding if Shigahara71naguchi ended up with the piece? Apparently that was the highest anyone wanted to bid on this figure - whole purpose of holding an auction right?

Re: So, is shigahara71naguchi a shill bidder? Flipper network?
I certainly have no idea whether s/he is a shill or whether there was any shilling on this item, but ending up as the winner doesn't mean s/he is not a shill, it could just mean that this particular shill was pushed "a bid too far"!
That would be the risk of shilling - That you end up paying the selling fee but still owning the item. Happily, that's also how we discover shills when their items reappear regularly.

It might be market manipulation as opposed to straight up shilling.
Wouldn't put it past the flippers to organize and spend a few yen to make even more yen.
Add in a few serious collectors who just want to get another figure for their dream collection bidding against them and you've got really high prices at auction on certain rare pieces across the board.
If they win by accident relisting it won't cause a big loss and yellow Bigs are worth 70,000 yen now. There'll likely be more yellow Bigs popping up at that price too and not necessarily this one.

Conversely, it could be a ploy on a shill bidder's part to win some crazy ass priced figure to draw out other sellers who will put theirs up for sale and try to buy them lower as competition might force the sellers to reduce pricing a bit.

People will try just about anything to make a buck. There might be more people with deep "collections" and a vested interest in keeping the secondary market high but that would be a good way to get backstock if they're banking on RxH continuing to boom.

Mark, I think I'm kinda backing off the shill bidder part of my original thoughts around this thread....but it still feels like that YJA-er is dirty somehow. The presence of that "Japama" bidder that hung in there longer than me, could definitely legitimize the "gooch". Meh, there's always next time. Right? (right?)

(right?) By saying that, you've guaranteed that that was the last one you will ever see on YJA or ebay. Ever.

They used to be all different colors, now they seem to be all standardized. I think they should mix up the headers a bit more. The new mini headers are completely boring.

Hmm, for some reason I thought the lettering colour changed every time, but it looks like it didnt, just if it was a special version. Like a sdcc run, or something.

It didn't change everytime but they did change from time to time. Its funny but my favorite RxH headers are the oni headers.
