Re: Which figures were Chromed out?
I think the copper chrome were out of 25. there were 57 HSP, 25 copper chromes and 8 HPs. all part of the black unknown. there was a list in the bag with all of them but I cant remember the exact numbers of the copper.

Re: Which figures were Chromed out?
The chrome figures are hit and miss. The application wasn't too hip. The slightest movement on some can create the silver to flake, crack and almost give a crazing effect to them. Not to mention climate change can also make them almost look like they bubble and then crack. Really sucks coz' these are some great pieces. I think over time they all are gonna see some wear. The initial application just makes this a given...
Thanks for posting those Pirates as well. All three together look outstanding!

Re: Which figures were Chromed out?
I got the chrome Phantom 8 Man 12" suit first and it really is flawless in every way, thinking the others would be the same I got a bee, brain, mantis, damaged brain, and all four are crazy bad, its almost like an on purpose effect, crazing, cracks and discoloration everywhere, but I have to say no chrome has actually come off my figures, so it kinda works, the helmet on the barbarian with the just chrome helmet is really bad on mine too. Ive been torn on getting the others, dont know if they will match my first ones, they might be better. Ive had chrometechusa chrome other plastic peices for me over the years, and when I asked them one time if they could chrome vinyl they said 'it cant be done' they wont even try it, even when I said Ill take the risk and pay for the peice even if it turns out bad, they said, nope, we wont do it. got five chrome blobpus that are all damn near perfect, a couple pinhead size chips among the whole set. Ive wondered why it works so well with some and not with others? also its strange on ones like the damaged brain with a peice fitting over another peice, they did not chrome the peices separately, its like the figure was chromed while assembled, I dont think you would want to remove the brain peices on these. to anyone who has the chrome Phantom 8 Man 12" suit: can you actually fit the one head inside the other without destroying both? Ive never been brave enough to try chrome just cant have much 'flex' to it, it would almost have to crack.

Re: Which figures were Chromed out?
I went for a bunch of the chrome when SoS marked them down at 50% off. The ones I got look great and I love them.
My black Barbarian with chrome has some production issues but I still like it. I just view it as what a vintage SB piece would look like years from now.

Re: Which figures were Chromed out?
Question on Black Unkown - Copper Skullpirate. I was just noticing that on the header for the copper chrome, pus wrote hsp. For you guys with the copper chrome, does yours say hsp too or something else?

For you guys with the copper chrome, does yours say hsp too or something else? That would mean I would have to find the header - but I do recall it supposed to being indistinguishable from the HSPs. By the way, the unknown skull pirates included the 57 HSP's and the 25(?) Copper Chromes, but were the 8 HP's part of that? As they weren't blind bagged and for sale in the case at SDCC I thought not - somebody school me.

The 9 HP's for the most part were all sold at SDCC. The 58 HSP's were not sold at SDCC. That was a different deal. All of the three had the same black header. The HP's had the special pus stampings and were signed. The Stippled was sold at SDCC but not part of the black unknown series.

It's actually pretty tough to get a good chrome job and not that cheap. Some of mine come out great and some not so great. The silver pirate looks excellent but the captain came out a little like aluminum. Thanks for all the compliments.
