When I was in Taiwan, I was literally in awe at the level of customer service.
And what struck me the most is that these people aren't working for tips either.
The level of customer service in the states is pure crap.

I also decided the first day I was there that the Japanese must eat the trash they create. Since there was no other way to explain how extremely clean the cities were with no trashcans anywhere to be found.

I never saw ANYONE picking up trash, and I didnt see a single trash can out on the street. I mean, I live in Lexington, which is considered a 'clean' US city, and Lexington looks like a garbage dump compared to Tokyo.

We obviously don't have this, but the difference between the States and Canada as far as litter goes...is pretty incredible.
