Hey Everybody- I'd like to try another random custom toy swap! This time its Secret Base. I'll be organizing it. Any fight sized Secret Base figures is open for use, painted however you want to paint it. I'm leaving the restrictions on what figures to use open so that no one who wants to participate will be stuck on not being able to get a base figure to paint. This way if you've got a random figure with a paint defect, put it to use as a custom! Or if you need one you can buy any one you want to use. Generally speaking on any given day you can find great deals on more common, less popular SB figures right here on the BST. I think that with enough people and the variety of figure types available this will make for an interesting and varied show of Kaiju.

I also know that its been hard to get people into the idea for an SB swap, I've already got one other person on board for sure, and if nothing else the swap will just be between him and I. BUT, as an incentive to have other people participate, if I can get at least 2 people other then myself and the aforementioned person (who can chime in here if he wants) in on this I'm going to paint a second Mystery Figure to award as a prize to the painter whose figure most impresses me in one way or another (not necessarily the best paintjob or execution, but most impressive to me for whatever reason I choose). I know its not a huge fabulous prize or anything, but hey, its a free figure, right?

As far as timeframes go, we can figure that all out once/if we get some signups and people can voice their opinions on how long they may it take to get a figure painted and sent. I'd like to keep it under 2 months though, I think 1 month should be enough time, but we can work theat out later.

If your not interested in a Secret Base Custom Swap, thats fine, no one is forcing you. But please keep your reasons to yourselves or in another thread. This is going to happen whether 20 people, 200 or just 2 people sign on for it. If you don't like it, just steer clear.

I ain't a painter but when I get my lazy ass in gear over the w/e I have a clear Brain, clear Orange Pumpkinhead and 'Dirty' Orange Pumpkinhead to list on the BST that would be ideal bases for customs if anyone's up for 'em!

i would love to do this but i know my lazy ass would never finish on time. i've been working on a custom for a month already and am only 1/4 way done...

I got a Usagrow figure I don't care for, can I paint him? Id hate to put in on ebay and not have any bidders again...

Hahaha...I am thinking of doing that, but first I need to get my hands on the right ones...clear, translucent Rebel Ink is what I want. Yes, it will get painted.

Well alright. =) Only been a day or so and already we've got a nice turnout. Sweet. I guess now would be a good time to start talking about time frames and whatnots. How much time would everyone need? I'm thinking the rest of June, all of July? Should we extend the deadline into August? The Chaos swap had a little more then one and a half months to complete and send the custom off. That would put us about the first week of August. How about August 8th? Does that sound reasonable? If anyone thinks it should be more or less please let me know. I'm just making this up as I go along. =)

I'll also be sending a mass-PM to everyone interested on the address to send it to, and any other pertinent information. It'll be just the same as the Chaos Swap or the Zag painting contest- Along with the custom you'll be asked to send return postage either through paypal or physically with the custom (I'd imagine Paypal would be simpler).

So if you're interested, signup here- I'll make the first email shortly, and then monitor this thread and pm anyone else who jumps on later.

anyone else care to join us?

So how is everyone doing on the customs? Hopefully the paint is going down nicely for everyone. I've just finished airbrushing my figure... but I've still got some work to put into it before its done. Inspiration hit a few days ago and it's coming together well. Don't you love that?

Well there is still a month to go before the deadline for submissions, there is still plenty of time to get in on this if you are still thinking about it. There is a lot of talent here on SB, and the more involved the better. So what are you waiting for? Get painting!
