 Re: Recent Anraku auctions
Thanks for the info, Ralph - fortunately or unfortunately, it adds to the mystique of Anraku.
I recently asked about the possibility of releasing more gogas in the future and was told: "we don't release any information about our future plans." You gotta love the secrecy surrounding this stuff!

 Re: Recent Anraku auctions
I've heard he was an animator by trade as well, and I've never seen any photos of him either. I envision he looks similar to one of the animations, or at least I like to think so. You all make good points though. His toys are insane, highest quality vinyl with paint jobs that I stare at for hours. Aside from these auctions, the only others I have ever seen were on yja right after the Monstock release. The small one went for $400 then, and the large went for $1000 I believe. I like that anraku releases them they way he wants. For those who don't know, he also keeps track of which collectors have which pieces. I've been very lucky to have been given opportunities to own his toys.

 Re: Recent Anraku auctions
Do you think the Dako or Cambodia would even get close to this price? I mean, just speculating. The 2 Gorillas were only available IN Japan right?
As where the Dako and Cambodia got a few US/Euro offers (if I'm wrong on anything, lemme know) so I just figured since they were even MORE mysterious and rare (assuming) than the Dako and Cambodia.
Plus I think the Gorilla sculpts are a bit more popular anyway.

i've seen the vader dako--its pretty huge.
Regards, Jay The black big one in the middle, old pic but he still is in my collection FOREVER. Chuck wrote: I would much rather spend a shit load of cash on a Dako no matter how rare. I actually like the big Gorillas most myself and Dako and Nue (I kow I'm in the minority there) are equal as second favs. I dunno, Nue brings back memories of something I just can't place on a personal level. I just meant opinions aside. Dako fits Vader way better than any though, the head fitting the helmet and so on. Perfect Darth Vader tribute, I still covet them.
