Re: Michael Lau + Clockwork Orange = Rad Gardener
Didn't know we could do Lau here. I loved and had most of (still have 5) of the SFCC set. Got a few odd pieces, too. Like his rougher, more sculptural stuff best.

Re: Michael Lau + Clockwork Orange = Rad Gardener
Vinyl Pulse posted from the opening of the Michael Lau show with pics of figs. They're all awesome, looks like its just the 3 we've seen and some random Michael Jordan figure (Not sure how that fits in with the Kubrick theme but maybe he ghost directed Space Jam) Anyways, the MFJK was an awesome suprise and it being unpainted makes me swoon. Heres the link if you aint seen it yet... http://www.vinylpulse.com/2008/07/michael-lau---c.html#moreFrom crazy toys

Jordon was one of Laus original 101 Gardeners. Being tied into Nike he managed to get official approval to do a secret 1:10 Michael Jordan variant. Not 'random' . . . it's part of the original concept . . . if anything the Kubrick trio are the random spin-off! Whilst I appreciate the collaborative nature of MFJK, (IMO) it kinda looks like a poor mash up (I'm sure that was intentional) . . . seems a shame the 4 designers couldn't develop something together that 'worked' in its own right, rather than just threw their token style at the same figure . . .

Re: Michael Lau + Clockwork Orange = Rad Gardener
really like this one to me simple style works well – totally into playful fisher price looks. opposed to lau´s futura and jarvis figs, me thinks its ok lau did this one on his own, as mfjk looks like he created something new. each one seems to be different - really dig that. didn’t get, is there normal or dissected heads? do they come with two different heads? or can u take down one half of the face? now if anyone needs a watch lets team up and hunt down a set!

Re: Michael Lau + Clockwork Orange = Rad Gardener
I like the Jordan x Lau stuff but you could put a 23 jersey on a turd and someone would still pay big bucks for it. I would really like to see a Strangelove, Spartacus, or the clown mask bank robbers from The Killing. I don't know if the Johnny aka Jack figure would look cool. Love the 2001 stuff though. Classic!
