 Re: Cronic Collections
I know of at least one different ank done in the metallic dorome's colorway. Is that dorome a one-off?

 Re: Cronic Collections
It says its the normal version. Black vinyl with maroon spray. Very muted and understated.

 Re: Cronic Collections
that maroon and black Dorome is amazing Kaiboba, I want one...hope I can score one somehow since it's a "normal" version...
every box I have heard about in the US had an Ankoron...maybe next time we shouldn't joke about it like we did.

 Re: Cronic Collections
I don't think that's the origin, though it does sound similar. I asked Naoki why all the "Asu's" and he told me it comes from the first syllable of his wife's first name. (Hence, Zyuraiasu, Bakurasu, Maverasu, Tripasu....)

 Re: Cronic Collections
Here's a better picture of the one-off Nougaki I got in the MixBox...the one in the JT forum was terrible...

That paint rules, congrats... probably the coolest mixbox piece I've seen so far.
On the other hand...where the fuck are the fight figs at?!?

 Re: Cronic Collections
I'll try to remember to ask Naoki tomorrow. I'll also tell him Mav + Zyurai are at the top of most folks' want lists, so maybe we can start seeing more of them in overseas releases - especially Mav.
Nice Nougaki, Lorne!!

 Re: Cronic Collections
well, there will be a new Mav and Zyurai at SDCC...right? along with every other Cronic character...two versions of each (painted and unpainted).

 Re: Cronic Collections
That's true, but it does seem that in the last 6-9 months or so there have been a ton of the smaller figures compared to the larger fellows. (Though there were a few Mav variants in the '08 LBs.) I know time and money wise Maverasu is way above what the other figures cost to produce. So that's probably a factor. If you total up the number of releases over the last three years, Mav's have been released at a slower pace than other Cronic figures. Anyway have a great time at SDCC!

 Re: Cronic Collections
yeah. the Dorome count already seems to be approaching the total Mav count...and is WAAAY over the amount of Mavs released in the last year...
though I love me some Dorome action...second only to the Nougaki in my collection.
