 Re: GID Ojo Rojo....
NT's right, I am from the states. Aside from the cowboy boots, Ojo's design is very informed by Asian aesthetics, no denying that... though I should say I wasn't going out of my way to make him like that when he first popped up. None of the Mexican/Mesoamerican influence I used to use as a reference on this baby. After my recent trip to Japan, (where I hung with my Gargamel bros pretty exclusively), I thought of Ojo thusly: Ojo is more or less an Oni, or demon. Yes, I created him here in the West, but he found 3D realization in Japan. Kiyoka "conjured" him there.
Kiyoka is a master at sculpting something from a sketch, and I don't mean a 360 degree turn-around either-- in Ojo's case, he based it off a small print-- I've never done a full turn-around for him, period-- which makes this figure, Globby, and the new Booska true collaborations between him and us, 2D and 3D, East and West.
Halleluiah!
Carry on, my wayward sons

 Re: GID Ojo Rojo....
Ojo, Mummy boy, both awesome figures. I wish there were more Western artists making toys that rivaled the eastern designs.

Quality vinyl, amazing paint aps, great design and sculpt. Why would where it was designed/made dictate my taste?
I think Mummy Boy is also "Western Designer Vinyl Toy" but it's cool and Non-Crap. I'm inclined to agree with you there BloodDrinker. It's either crap or non crap... or Scottish. PS Martin your figure is dope regardless..maybe i'll find a GID one for under a bill one day!
