It's Watchmen as in sentinels, or guardians, it has nothing to do with watches. Why allude to the wrong reading of the title? Oh well. There are MANY time and watch references in the story... mostly revolving around Dr. Manhattan. The back covers of all the comics had an image of a clock ticking down to midnight. The whole origin story of Dr. Manhattan was watch related... even the ending had a twist on the traditional clock countdown. I'd go back and re-read the graphic novel... time and clock references abound. Grabbed my copy of the book, and you are SO RIGHT! I had totally forgotten all the 11th hour talk and the countdown references. That is cool. I am definitely going to re read the book before the flick. Thanks.

It really worked in 300, but this isn't that type of story.

 Re: Watchmen Trailer
Friday, July 25
11:55-1:00 Warner Bros.: Watchmen— A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock"— which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union—is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up —- but no less determined —- masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion—a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers —- Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who watches the Watchmen? Guest appearances TBA. Hall H
Good luck getting in

 Re: Watchmen Trailer
Getting into a Hall H event is relatively painless if you're willing to wait in line an hour or two. The single-file line may look intimidating, but once it gets moving it goes pretty quick. Granted, this is going to be one of the most anticipated panels so I might be wrong. Like anything at Comicon the earlier you queue up the better your shot.

 Re: Watchmen Trailer
I thought this might be cool but after seeing that trailer - and especially after seeing that this conflicts with the Spaced panel - I'm giving it a big miss.

 Re: Watchmen Trailer
Yeah, I can't wait for the Spaced panel and screenings! Here's where I had my Spaced dvd set signed at last year's con.
