 Re: Yamomaku figures
Just received one of the King Koarans. I'm highly impressed. Does your kaiju have happy ears? According to the blog, they are space koalas crossed with lizards. His purpose is to defend wild animals.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Nice shots of a great figure. Cool to know his purpose is to defend wildlife, hence the 'hypersensitive' ears.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Thanks for the translation and photos. I always thought they had a dog-like look and expression with those ears.

Just rec'd the barabaran through d*b* on the bay. Will post pics when I get better light. There is a serious amount of variation in the individual paints, evidently.

Hey Steve, looking forward to those pics of Barabaran. It looks like it belongs right beside the Rainbow Barom 1 demons and I love kaiju based on plant mutations. Let's see 'em!

Nice pickup, Daniel.
I'm kinda disappointed I passed up the couple of Amefurashi that I have seen for sale. Oh well, maybe I can pick them up down the road sometime.

Weeeellll, please note what appears to be a metallic green spray in the advertised pc; an entire paint missing from mine. Please also note that I am not a pro photographer and that the mysteries of shooting through cellophane confuse and scare me. As shown for sale: As received: I don't know, my love feels soiled. It will never be the same. What's the opinion with you guys who've been around more?

 Re: Yamomaku figures
should be there now. Turns out that editing in PS, re-upping to photobucket while trying to hot link edit my post is not the most workable thing. Better now.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
It looks identical to the one on display at the show (taken from data's flickr): The other image is from Yamomark's blog, and was likely just a paint test.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Photography can be tricky. Looks like more green or teal in the first image versus silvery in your photo.
I still like what I see. Sculpt is so strange.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Pretty creative sculpt with the centipede running up the arm to the back of the head. The green highlights in the test shot seem to bring out a little more detail than the silver. If you take yours out of the bag, please post more pics. This is an original creation by Yamomark, correct?

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Yes and it's definitely a trippy sculpt. Centipedes crawling through cake frosting; kind of like a Japanese monster take on Great Expectations. I don't think that there are other C. Dickens references in kaiju. Hopefully. It kinda grew on me a little as I was handling it for the shot, but my soul is still in a writhing mass of doubt.

Those *are* nice ears. Even I am happy, once again. Beautiful sculpt.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Roses, black boots & a centipede..?! That Barabaran is just delirious, almost in a Carlos Enriquez-kind of way. Digging the green test shot way more than the painted figure though...

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Hmm, the Dickens reference never occurred to me. Even lacking the green spray (which I agree adds some depth to the paint work), it's a hideous, beautiful figure. The sculpt is amazingly complex.
Great pickup, I think.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
I'll have to put it up on a shelf for the weekend and see...if it starts talking to me about, oh say, 2am sunday morning, it's a keeper. Should have gone after (can't remember if I bid too low or what I was thinking) on those little yamos... a small grouping of their own would have a lot of weight.

 Re: Yamomaku figures
Kaiwi has a couple of those mini Yamos for sale in the FS forum...
I ordered this Barabaran and am curious to see the paint on it. I'll probably put it with the Rainbow Barom 1 shelf. BTW, the Rainbow glow Doruge was just released. Haven't seen a pic yet, but oh so anxious.

Haven't seen a pic yet, but oh so anxious. That will be hot. Saw Kaiwi's sale. The little guys *are* really nice. I'll take a fly at one of 'em when I get home if they're still up. I'd go for more but a certain web flea market got a bunch of my money this week for a bunch of little rubber guys and the bullmark book. Couldn't help it.
