 Re: STOLEN KATOPE PAINTING
Really? I was just looking at that painting (online) and I realized it's that gargamel/collab bird. that's terrible.

 Re: STOLEN KATOPE PAINTING
Total shitbag move. What kind of asshole can enjoy a stolen piece of art?
But also, how is this possible in a crowded environment? Just seems like such a visible item.
Sucks.

Sucks. That's what I was thinking. Every time the guy looks at it he should realize what a scumbag he is. Maybe the crowds made it easier to nab without being spotted...

 Re: STOLEN KATOPE PAINTING
Lame ass shit.
I hope you enjoy your stolen piece of art and I hope that every time you admire it, you think about how shitty of a person you are for taking money out of an artist's pocket.

 Re: STOLEN KATOPE PAINTING
That's ridiculous, hopefully this gets returned to the rightful owner. Does this indicate there will be more 'reports' of stolen merchandise ?

 Re: STOLEN KATOPE PAINTING
this is such a tragedy. I was admiring this painting and the eaton one. both very very nice works of art. my friend and I discussed who would do this? was it premeditated by someone who knew of gargamel and really wanted the painting... or was it some joeblow passerby who just liked it and did not care? either way I hope they know what a piece of shit they are. how can you admire somehting you stole? I saw a D&D dork kid steal a handfull of 20 sided dice from a booth... I gave him a dirty look. wtf. also, on 2 seperate occations someone tried to grab and walk off w/ my bag. I hate theives.

 Re: STOLEN KATOPE PAINTING
I can't even wrap my head around the mind-work of A-holes who do this. People work so hard to bring something nice into the world (and even make a living--why not?) and someone can just take it from them for their own selfish reasons. Everyone feels the loss, and it just fucks up the good vibe.
I hope we find the stolen painting.

There's always a bunch of rotten apples in the basket. With SDCC gaining popularity every edition and drawing so many folks from different backgrounds, theft is very likely to happen. I wonder if booth owners and dealers are insured against this ?

I'm willing to bet that this will never see the light of day ever again. Also that the person who stole it was not a board member nor kaiju collector.

 Re: STOLEN KATOPE PAINTING
Did the picture get stolen before or after the article about Gargamel showed up in the San Diego newspaper?
