Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
That's a great price for an '89 CRX with only 85,000 miles! Nice score!!!

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
I had a suspicion it was the "one"--very nice piece, and I heard once from a boardie that it would go around as high as that bid price.

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
Ha, I thought it was that one. Well, one just sold for $800 with only half the pieces and no header, so there you go.
Frankly, seeing two of this guy go up in such rapid succession made me a little suspicious of the second.
EDIT: Hm, and the same bidder won both of them. Way to go man!

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
Oh that... well, I've gotta say it trumps all the ones in my collection, but that's some serious dedication in the financial department. I looked a few times while it was hovering at around $700, but it was already way out of my reach... just nice eye candy!

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
I have been watching this, more our of curiosity than anything else. Just wondering, how much would this have retailed for or was it a gift type thing?

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
think retail was about 8000 yen and there was only about 10 sets made. Of was sold at the first sofubi matsuri maybe 3 years ago. I can't remember exactly even though I was there.

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
yep...10 sets made from what I understand. finding a complete set MIB would be near impossible. I owned the goga at one time and while it's pretty, not something I would spend $800 on.

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
The Header is great! And they would look fantastic under a black light, but the real question is, does the winner think he got a killer deal? Or was he just caught up in an ebay frenzy moment.

It was traded to a good friend for an OG GID mutant evil. And actually I originally got the goga in a trade. And I still have one mini goga so I guess I am doing ok right? See what happens when you build nice relationships and make friends with people?

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
I assume that price is/was either USD or JY? Either way, that is wild. However, as one of our SB pals said in another thread (sometime back), sometimes even we collectors underestimate the medium of "toys". The "toys" we collect are art-equivalent. If a gallery painting, or some such, fetched this price most would not even bat and eye.

Re: Holy Moly Good God Almighty!
people also need to consider that this is something that Japanese collectors really go after with a passion as well. Other newer companies aren't collected as closely as anraku, so this price really doesn't surprise me. Old anraku is no joke, and the people who can go after this stuff have a lot of money to blow. It's like vintage really, because it's so limited and hard to find, the big guns come out.
