It has to do with liking the figure on its own. You don't have to be a punk kid to like this. You may really like this for being a nicely japanese made scary looking monkey. Which is more than enough of a reason to buy this or anything. I've never even seen the Ultra-Q goro episode but that hasn't kept me from wanting every toy related.

Alex, as much as I love gorilla kaiju, you have to admit how iconic this was when we were teens going to Sunday matinees at CBs. It's bringing alot in figure in the same way the new Mazinger style stormtrooper is. Remember last year at SDCC when I accidentally leaked this info to you? and you ran up to Brian before I could even tell you that it was "privelidged" info? I don't think you would have the same reaction if I told you that they were making a new king kong figure

All I'm saying is you don't HAVE to be a punk kid to enjoy this. I don't want people to feel excluded for not knowing the reference. Duh its obviously a gorilla biscuits toy so of course any straight edge kid who collects will like this but so can anybody. Everybody should be able to take what they want from a toy that we make here at Super7.

Joel, when told me that info 2 SDCCs ago my head exploded for a number of reasons! Ive been stoked ever since.

I take issue with your straight edge comment.
I sing along much better when I'm pissed  AND tend to buy more toys.

Even straight edge drop outs think this toy kicks ass so ... if you're not now - you never were ... but you still dig the toy and the memories of a good time.

To appease the masses I've just decided to say you can enjoy it for the following:

riding in vans all summer, stage diving, X-ing your hands, having a positop, drinking before going to your straight edge friends shows, thinking you'd be straight edge forever, still being straight edge, Sunday matinees, dunks, construction gloves, dreads, sambas, vans, liberty spikes, shaved heads, boots, braces, looking like none of the above, being a freak and not fitting in anywhere, Skipping class to buy records, this is boston not LA, where the wild things are, the way it is, flex your head, touch n go, revelation, dischord, DSI, schism, SST, rat music, hardware, heartattack, exclaim, not forgetting the struggle or the streets and last but not least the kids having their say.

HELL YES! It would only be cool if done in the spirit of hardcore and not streetwear. IMO

Gorilla Biscuits vinyl figure kills.. would love to see a soft vinyl figure made of the Motorhead mascot done as well.

Absolutely not.
That fucking logomibob is on everything and everywhere as it is. If I never see another Motorhead face again it will be too soon.
That, in my humble opinion, would also fall firmly in the western world, along with stupid circle As and sex pistol album covers.

And I do like Motorhead. But I think there is a massive difference between Motorhead and Gorilla Biscuits.
Also, to be fair, I would never buy this figure if it wasn't GB related.

-rant over - sorry...

I LOVE Motorhead, but it doesn't seem S7 to do a toy. Medicom maybe, but not S7. I'd buy it, but overall I'm with backtrack, mall girls and douches at the gym who gel their hair wear Motorhead shirts now for "style" and it pisses me off. MAYBE they know "Ace of Spades" and I'm all for Lemmy making cash on it, but I'm a little sick of seeing that thing everywhere.

I made a silk-screen shirt of the GB cover with this gorilla in tenth grade. would it be possible to do a mono-version of this toy so that it looks reasonably similar to the actual cover?
I've always liked the EP better than Start Today, but they are both wonderful.
Its interesting that a band can get incredibly popular and only have put out 2 official records.
