 Re: Orange Longnecks
The Ver. 3.0 (polka dot World Tower version) took a little while to grow on me, but I'm really glad I pre-ordered it. I really love how Longneck has some fun with their releases...it's not limited to just "Here's black vinyl with silver spray"..."Next version is blue vinyl with red spray"..."Alright, how about glow with green spray next?". "Normal" versions can be really cool, too... but I can safely say that there aren't many polka-dot kaiju in my collection. And in a couple months, there will be one panda kaiju, too!

 Re: Orange Longnecks
I agree. When I saw the Polka Dot version I immediately thought: Damien Hirst Colorway. Very cool, very modernist - will go nicely with a DWR furniture setup - and no I am not being sarcastic.

I love the tributes or creative ones versus just random colours and sprays.

 Re: Orange Longnecks
I felt like the polka dots and panda, though both cool, took away from the great sculpt. They're cool ideas, but not for me for $130-$160 a pop.

Lurker's on top of it. Yup, I got mine from CKA and it just arrived around last Thursday. I'm guessing S7's allotment shipped at the same time, so they're probably on their way to the US as we speak.

 Re: Orange Longnecks
Would have loved to have gotten the panda dempa. Wanted the earlier menagro with star on forehead. But this set is nice. Has anyone broken down and said where/when/how many?

 Re: Orange Longnecks
Looks like they're doing a hyper hobby exclusive version with only a few differences (blue on feet and purple on back). Kind of weird, but if anyone can point me in the right direction so that my friend in Japan can order me one of these that would be great.

 Re: Orange Longnecks
On the subject of orange Longnecks, I just added another member to the Menargo family today: The black-striped one was released at WF last weekend, and I was lucky enough to score what might have been the last one remaining at CKA. When I saw him chilling up on KT's Flickr I knew I had to get my hands on one, but I had no idea it would be quite this easy! The ones listed online sold out ridiculously quickly, and at pretty high prices, so I thought I might have a chase on my hands. Also, the glow Ikapokkun is an omake if you bought all three of the Alpha 7 releases, FYI.

Those new colors are pretty creative--I like the one with the green veins, but the verdict is still out on the blue lipstick and zebra stripes.

 Re: Orange Longnecks
The WF striped one, at least in my imagination, is what would happen if a Namegon vinyl decided to have a baby with an old dime-store Halloween skeleton toy from the 60's. It's got that great kind of primitive paint app where you can actually tell what direction they sprayed it from based on the unpainted parts on the opposite side and the burnt orange and black really complement the blue and green on the back.
I've gotta say, no matter what anyone else thinks Death Menargo is definitely my favorite sculpt going now and I am really amped to see some new ones coming out. I thought after the deluge of Dempagons (which I also love) that we might not hear anything more from some of our old Longneck buddies...

 Re: Orange Longnecks
That's an awesome setup, dude. I'm not a huge Longneck fan (only ever had two Gas Bauwers), but some of the recent releases are killer. That's also real cool that you scored that omake.

Thanks for the info on the glow Ikapokkun. Although I was hoping this was actually released so that there was a better chance of my finding one. The set looks great together.

 Re: Orange Longnecks
cool set up Velocitron, I like how the Menagros' look together, almost like opposites in color - where one ends the next begins. those little paranoid monsters are very cool as well. I need to find one of those.

 Re: Orange Longnecks
Those Death Menagros are killer, both. I always liked the sculpt but never any of the paints enough to throw down on them. I like how Mr. Longneck was forced to use the Smogun colors in such a creative way on such an opposing sculpt. The Gas Bower is cool too.
NOT into the Dempagon though, it's another example of a paint job that takes attention AWAY from the killer sculpt and I'm a bit sick of almost every Dempagon being a "tribute."
I really want a Dempagon, but so far only that first and the Frankenruge really get me going and they seem to be the toughest to nab.

Anxious - STILL waiting for my 1.0 from Kaiju Taro Swooning - New Orange is awesome!

I forgot about that one, it's pretty good too, so that's 3 I really like. Guess it's lucky for my wallet that I'm not so into whats been put out so far. Again, love LOVE LOVE that sculpt, but I feel a lot of what's been done just robs it of what it's really worth/potential. With Smogun tribute I'd rather just spend $60 on the Huk. Repro.
