I think he got a Marmit Hedorah and a S7xM1 jet jaguar, although that could have been the visit before.

First track on Nude with Boots is a mind blower!

I find it funny how popular the Melvins are. As a kid they were always opening for shows that I went to...and I HATED them! It wasn't until much later that I found out they were a "big thing"...but I never listened to them outside of seeing those shows.

"popular" being a relative word...
they been around for way over 25 years.
even with all the grunge hype and being deemed as one of kurt cobains favorite bands back in the day, they never really got mainstream popular.

they have stayed consistant to the day. and they still rock.
and they are one of the loudest bands live!

Yeah, by "popular" I meant that people outside of the NW had heard of them...and liked them.

Is the new album good? I'm not sold on the whole big business thing. Haven't bought anything since the lustmord album. I listen to houdini at least once a month though.

I'm a big Karp fan, so Big Business is half the draw for me.
I've seen The Melvins 4 or 5 times,
last time was with BB when Head for the Shallow came out.

from Wikipedia :
Big Business started as a two piece band composed of Jared Warren of Karp and The Tight Bros From Way Back When, and Coady Willis of Murder City Devils. Their sound has been characterized as a bombastic and frantic low end attack, marked by Warren's signature vocal delivery. Most frequently they are compared to Warren's old band Karp, GodheadSilo and The Melvins.

Warm holiday wishes from big business

fuckin' GREAT!
I was really blown away by Melvins. I think everyone was.
BB was great too, but The Melvins just outshined in my opinion.
Coady Willis played drums along side Dale Crover for their whole set.
Brutal!

I was hoping they'd play "honey bucket" or "let God be your gardener" or both.
(well, tons of others, but I really wanted to hear at least one of these)
They did "honey bucket", so I was complete.
The video for that song has the band cavorting around a goat farm
where half the goats are wearing Black Sabbath tee-shirts.
