Ever feel completely alone in a crowd of like-minded individuals?

How is it that no matter how hard I try, I just cannot force myself to like--both in idea and/or execution--Smogon?

Is that like being a wrestling fan who hates The Undertaker?

I feel shame, and yet, I would somehow feel *more* ashamed if I pretended to like something I didn't really...

There is no denying that the paint job and color choices are superb, but I just can't shake the complete lack of articulation and the VW-bug-looing head.

Like what you like. I don't own any Smoguns, actually. I just think the execution of the set is excellent.

As a pollution monster, I think it works great...all too well, maybe. And when I say 'execution', I'm not talking colorway or sculpt, really...just that--while our junk coming back to haunt us and kill us is a very real and very pertinent theme in kaiju at large--it just doesn't have the menace of say, hedorah.

Certainly not trying to influence anybody's opinion or 'hate' by any means...just trying to 'come out' to the only folks who'd even possibly be able to understand/sympathize.

And yes, HMS: I agree wholeheartedly. If you can't get behind dueling leads and soaring vocals about the plunder and tirade of war, death, and monsters, then, well, I guess there's no pleasing you.

There are tons of things I don't like and I don't feel like I need to be convinced or hated because of it.

I guess the only reason I feel weird about it is due to Smogon's near mascot-like status...he's all over the place. I just didn't know if he was an 'acquired' taste or anything, and while I wanted to express the fact that I didn't get it, I wanted to be respectful to anybody who did. That's all.

I guess I tend to want to be over-polite on boards like this, because, well, I just don't want things to blow up out of proportion. Anyway. Not trying to be dramatic at all. Just appreciate the absence of 'go fux n00b. sm0rg0n rocks your momz ballz.' Always a relief.
