Mine, bronze with very lite black mist. It's hard to photograph dark objects, maybe time for a new camera

Here is my first one! I went a little different direction just so there is no "confusion" about this being a proto, etc Tooths! A little sloppy here still (I'll have to go touch it up), but you get the idea...Hand of Fear Pocket!:

Does the acetone affect the shine on the vinyl? Better yet, can someone give a play by play on how they did it?

Re: New Pirate and Captain additions - check em out!
I probably didn't do it right I took the pirate apart, used cotton balls and q-tips with 100% acetone and rinsed the pieces off a bit as I went. Some of the areas are a pain to get to, lots of details on these sculpts, which is why mine is a little rough in some areas. I read some posts in the customs forums about using toothbrushes and whatnot, but I didn't go that far yet. I am not sure if I could hit them with something to shine them up...I'd like to hear what the "pros" do...

Not a pro but I used laquer thinner (because my dumb ass grabbed the wrong can at Home Depot). I took mine all apart. I used a paint brush to begin with and then I used a tooth brush in the hard to reach areas. I washed them a few times during the process in soapy water, dried them off, and started the process again. I didn't want the thinner to fuck up the plastic. Let them dry off overnight then put them all back together. Pretty basic.

Re: New Pirate and Captain additions - check em out!
Acetone is tricky as hell, Do NOT let it stay on for more than a few seconds, especially on clear vinyl, it will turn smoky fast. Cotton balls & q-tips and then soapy water, just do a little bit at a time. Very time consuming & aggravating to get into the tight spots, but very rewarding when you can do it with no haze. Bob seems to have the method close to perfected.
