Funny, Brian mentioned something about AVA being the official tester.

Re: S7 Jumbo Stormtrooper (Machinder Style)
Gentlemen, not to be too much the nitpicky bastard I am, but there's a little terminology confusion here. Both the ToyCyte article and some of the posts in this thread seem to be using the terms, "rocket punch/fist" and "missile-firing fist" interchangeably. For shame! Rocket punch or launching fist or whatever ya wanna call it is the whole, normal-looking fist firing off at your defenseless cat: The missile-firing fist was a different attachment hand that had standard Jumbo missiles for fingers (sorta) that could be fired independently: I'm pretty sure what's being discussed here is the former: rocket punch. I just wanted to be clear that we were discussing the same thing! If the blaster shoots standard Jumbo missiles and at least one arm has the rocket punch, I'll be one happy fucking camper. Ideally, if the fists were removable, any of the old-school Jumbo arm attachments could be used. That'd be hot! Oh, wheels on the feet are an excellent move, but I also would have LOVED to have seen missile clips along the lower legs and top of the shoulders like most Jumbos.

one hand: punch fist
the other hand: missile firing gun

Re: S7 Jumbo Stormtrooper (Machinder Style)
have both fists fire
and a delay switch on the gun so that when the fist holding it is in midair, the missile will fire from the airborne gun!

Re: S7 Jumbo Stormtrooper (Machinder Style)
My opinion is that it makes more sense and nostalgic reference to stick with a single firing fist!
Please recall Mattel's Shogun Warriors 24-inch Godzilla, Gaiking, and Daimos all have a single firing fist.
The Shogun Warriors are remembered by several age groups. I spoke with a whole lot of people at SDCC about the Jumbo Stormtrooper. No matter from what angle they came from - Star Wars or Shogun Warriors, many got it immediately. Others needed a little extra info from one direction or the other, and then the lights came on!

Re: S7 Jumbo Stormtrooper (Machinder Style)
To me, the style is more important than the features. I'd almost prefer it to have NO firing fist and NO wheels (especially if it would keep the price down, hopefully causing more units to sell and more characters to get made), but I think a firing gun is a must. The idea is not only too cool, but it would be unique in the world of JMs. It would be a great way to do something that is in keeping with the vintage style, while not just copying a vintage idea.
Regardless of which way you decide to go with the Stormtrooper, if a Darth Vader is made, it absolutely MUST have a retractable lightsaber in it's arm that is cast in RED GLOW plastic.

I'm really excited about this but I need to forget it for awhile so I don't get burnt out Star Wars. The last 3 movies were terrible

I don't know you anymore. Nah, fuck that. Wheels, rocket punch on one arm, missile-firing blaster held in the other hand. These are necessary and make the toy THAT much better. HOWEVER, I *am* sad that no one else seems to be on board with me regarding the missile clips on the legs and shoulders. Granted not all Jumbos had these, but they just seem so iconic to me. To me, when I hear "Jumbo Machinder", the missile clips are just as crucial to the overall look as the classic Jumbo proportions. Anybody feeling me? nekrodave wrote: Regardless of which way you decide to go with the Stormtrooper, if a Darth Vader is made, it absolutely MUST have a retractable lightsaber in it's arm that is cast in RED GLOW plastic. NOW you're talking! And why didn't *I* think of that!
