This was one of the limited theme figures released at Patchworked Monster Summit Fall 2005. Another is the "Onigon," a neat design which I have coming in the mail soon...
P.S. The further afield from the whole SB/Gargamel thing you get in the auctions, the more cool stuff like this you can find, plus nobody else is bidding on it typically, so there are some nice scores to be had.

That is one funky toy! I didnt go to the Pachi Kaiju Summit this last time around but the one before had some wacky toys. There was a horror summit I forget the name of a few months ago I went to that had some weird stuff too, I will get some pictures together and put 'em later if my alcohol addled brain can remember. Most of this goofy stuff is made by Marmit.

 What is it?
Hey Frank! Love your work! (That is if that's really YOU of course. I mean, hey, I'M Frank Kozik, y'know?). Anyway, WHAT IT IS is "MAMITORA" (subterranean was right on the nihongo), Marmit's "original kaijyu", and one of an event-limited edition of 30 released 17th Sept this year. He is half tanuki (or racoon-dog, a common wild animal in Japan) and half tiger (tora in japanese). It's actually the second time Marmit have made this figure: the first version was more brown/less yellow, but is quite old and super-rare. Regards, a well-wisher.
