What are yours? Mine are Matango and Godzilla Versus Hedorah. It was so awesome to see Hedorah last year on the big screen at G-Fest. Yoshimitsu Banno was there and spoke after the movie.

WOW, you mentioned two of my very favorite TOHO films rite off the bat. I would love to see an updated Matango. The first version is classic and works fantastic. But with effects today a new version could be killer if it was handled properly. I love the early King Gidorah films also. One of my fav's would be Destroy All Monsters, it's a great fun RUMBLE.

yeah, Lostinky, I hope to be there again this year. You should come on up for it! Let me know for sure.

Datadub - this year G-Fest is July 7-9 in Chicago. Here is the link: http://g-fan.com/ It's a nice program and attracts about 1400 or so kaiju-heads. It's nice to be able to see Toho movies on the big screen. They are shown at a nearby theater which is an old 1920s place with a big screen and over 1000 seats. Last year they showed hedorah, The H-Men and Final Wars. This year Negadon- the Monster from Mars and G vs. Ghidorah (your fav Shape!) are confirmed so far.

Frankenstein vs. Baragon has everything going for it: Kumi Mizuno, Nick Adams, and a monster that looks like a Boston Terrier. I laugh my ass off every time Baragon pops his head up.

I like Dogora,Matango, The first Godzilla (Not the american version), Monster Zero, Rodan, The H man, War of the Gargantuas, Frankenstein Conquers the World and Atrogon.

I personally think War of the Gargantuas is a Toho masterpiece.
I like the Mysterians, even though it gets me sort of sleepy.

I really like Daei and the early Gamera films too. I think Gamera vs. Barugon is one of the coolest, and very "adult" of all the Gamera flicks.

Wish they would make them like that again.I thought the first of the newer Gameras (Guardian of the universe) was really good compared to alot of the silly shit Toho is still doing.

They still can't bring out the mature realistic element of a giant monster attack, they get all Fantasy wanna be anime. i think they are totally out of touch with what people need. Rant over

I'm a huge fan of The Mysterians, i love the new dvd release, Aliens, ufo's, giant robots, and the markalite cannon!
The movie has great pacing, something is always happening evey 10 minutes, just a fun film.
Plus i love all the Big G movies, still watch them over and over

Hmmmm... let's see...

I love Godzilla vs. Megalon, because of the wicked tag team battle of Godzilla & Jet Jaguar vs. Megalon & Gigan!

As a huge Frankenstein fan, I have great fondness for Frankenstein Conquers the World and the sequel, War of the Gargantuas...

Godzilla vs. Hedorah is also a fave, as is Monster Zero...

And let's not forget Destroy All Monsters!

And for that matter, DAM's spiritual sequel, Final Wars.

I just picked up Yog and The Mysterians on DVD, so I'm eager to see those, too!

Can't wait to see original Mogera!

Toho stuff is the ginchiest!
