 Re: Marusan Pigmon!!
I just picked mine up over the weekend and it does rule!! What your picture hints at but doesn't show clearly is the iridescent cellophane (or possibly fairy wings) that are lurking inside Pigmon...a very nice touch! This really is a great toy!

 Re: Marusan Pigmon!!
A few of us are wondering...at what point does garamon begin and pigmon end...or is it the other way around.

 Re: Marusan Pigmon!!
Also- while my article explains the historical difference between Garamon and Pygmon, maybe you’re mainly asking how to tell by sight if a toy is Garamon or Pygmon,.. that can be a bit tricky. Sometimes, the sculpts feature really easy to spot identifiers that are based directly on the characters’ appearances on Ultra Q and Ultraman. If there’s a symbol on the chest, it’s Garamon (the chest symbol is from his second Ultra Q appearance); if there’s a balloon involved, it’s Pygmon (and this is, actually, the correct English spelling of the character’s name, as it’s meant to be an abbreviation of “pygmy monster”). The differences in physique between the two (which I describe in the article) can also be a tip-off; this is obviously most true with suit-faithful sculpts, like the Medicom Garamon or the Atelier G-1 Pygmon. Sometimes, though- and this Marusan sculpt is a good example- it all just comes down to what it’s being marketed as. Marusan calls this a Pygmon sculpt, so there you go.
