I read that it doesn't include the stand. Hope that I am wrong!

I recieved an upcoming release e-mail from a local store. It includes a pic with some info in Japanese that says the stand is not included.

How do we get the stand then?

Not a fan of this at all.

Without the stand it seems a moot point to me. Am I wrong in thinking this, maybe but I really cant understand the point of this figure without the stand allowing it that hovering appearance/feature unless your a major fan of the character itself.

With the stand I would totally buy this figure. Without it, no way.

you can find stands very easily by using google or fleabay..but I never saw this guy flying around like a ghost in the anime..he was always running or sitting in a bowl

sucks that it dosent come with a stand but this figure is just different in every way for me so i gotta score one. definatley feelin this sculpt.

i think i might like it with paint...we'll see.

I honestly know nothing about the character or show its based on but I dig the sculpt 100%. I guess once you see the figure with a stand (pictured) you kind of just expect the figure to come that way. To know it doesnt is a bit of a let down, for me at least. I'm just gona buy it and if I dont like it, trade forum hoooooooo.

GeGeGe no Kitaro pre-dates The Residents' use of the eyeball theme by about fifteen years. Folks who say they don't know the manga have probably seen some of Sunguts' and maybe Marmit's licensed toys from the same series. Pretty cool to see SB getting in on this.

It's also had at least 5 different anime series, a bunch of movies (including a recent live action one), video games, statues, magazines, a museum (that offers new year lucky bags as well) and nearly every kind of toy imaginable, etc etc. etc... Shigeru Mizuki (the creator/ manga artist) essentially defined the look for many of the legendary yokai from Kappa to Rokurokubi (my personal fave). If you've never seen this stuff you're really missing out. As far as the anime goes, once you hear the theme song it will pretty much never leave your head.

I must admit I am totally ignorant to the whole thing. The only anime I really watch is, Robotech (All), G.I.T.S. (All), FLCL, AKIRA, TANK POLICE, WARRIORS OF THE WIND, BERZERK, BLOOD (the movie, not tv show), G-Force (Gatchamen originals), Apple Seed, and a crap load of anime flicks I cant even remember but def random stuff. Other than that I am totally NOT in the know.

I watch allot of Godzilla originals but I'm not in delved into the culture of it I just think the movies are cool. Also are Kung-Fu originals (Sonny Chiba Rules) but not anime ovbiously.

That's a pretty common color for Oyaji. There isn't much that companies can do since he's pretty much naked. They can probably just make clear and gid figures. I'll still grab it when it comes out.
