Just got this in an email from a friend: BBC TV "Japanorama" hosted by Jonathon Ross (Incredibly Strange Film Show). Episode on Japanese Scifi ---- interviews Ultraman director Mitsuta Kazuho, Shinya Tsukamoto (Ironman), Tetsuya Mizoguchi (Space Channel 5 videogame), Mamoro Oshii, appearances by Atom, Akira, Baltan, lots of robots of course, and Japanese cybersex.

Wow...are there still a bunch of people that don't know about this show? It's showing its age but it's still pretty cool to watch...either as a series or just as single episodes. You can also find some episodes on youtube.

Completely irrelevant but I part time at a school. One of the students asked..."who is bruce lee?" and 95% of the class had no idea.
I felt old and dated at that point

There were 3 series of Japanorama, and a separate series by Jonathan Ross about Asian Cinema. He also did a show called "Finding Steve Ditko". All entertaining TV and readily available through bittorrent!

i've got all 3 seasons, they are all really good but season 2 is the standout by far. 3 goes in a completely different direction altogether.
