i'm with ramos, but if you are going to try not to step on anybody, it should apply to all.

chill!!! not trying to "I FART A LOT" here. i'm kinda am out of the whole thing anyway.
basically i'm just trying to point out that it will never really be "fair" for anyone. someone will always have better resources, different timing, etc. etc. etc. buy what you want. it will probably come back around YJA anyway, eh???
i just try to not be a jerk in general. although i have my moments.

I don't generally bid on Yahoo Japan so here's an outsider question: what's up with this not bidding against each other? I thought that was the point of an auction. I buy stuff for my wife's collection sometimes on eBay. It's always the same people, many of whom I know through correspondence or previous sales, and we all bid against each other all the time. In fact, if I don't see people I know who are serious collectors on the bidders list I worry that there's something wrong with the item. Anyway, please don't post your ebay names, because if I want something there I'll bid the price I'm willing to pay. Not only that, I'll probably snipe it if I can!

the truth is I can pay any amount for something, but that sucks, right? not fun.

I worked many years to have toy money.
anyways..whats the deal with people not wanting a direct bid account? it doesnt cost extra. all they want is a credit card to bill too.
?

I am not into the direct bidding because I don't want to spend credit on toys. I can't trust my self. I need to spend real cash on toys. I do think about it all the time because there are a lot of little items I want to get but don't want to bug people to bid for them.

jeees, haha!!! we are posting in totally different directions Frank!
by "work" i mean: scour YJA and other JP websites morning noon and night!!!
and i thought there was a $15 a mo. service charge for an "account" with celga. unfortunately even 15 makes a diff for me.

I also 'hunt'..to the point of travelling to Japan and finding shit in the street.
I hunted so much I ended up making toys for a living.

I have a card that is only used for YJA and I make myself pay it off completely every month.

I enjoyed watching the bugula sell-off and S7 hoard distribution (mainly because I sat on the sidelines).
Quote: the truth is I can pay any amount for something, but that sucks, right? not fun. The only thing that sucks about it is if you are wasting money by way overpaying for stuff. I figure the value of an auction item is what the number 3 bidder paid. Number one is willing to pay more than anyone else in the world, and number 2 is often just as nutty. That said, I've won my fair share.

that is not work. that is some lazy, hurt your eyes stuff. I admit I use the net for lots of research but the real work is hitting the street and going to stores. for the last two summers I traveled to so many toy/comic stores in the US(and record stores) to look for weird toys and collectables. You got to get out there to be "working".

I have about 2000 toys in my collection.
I overpaid for
Bearbrick 1 series letters ( my gal just HAD to have em)
Bape exclusive pink 12" Pointman
and lately 4 0r 5 of the SB joints.
luckily, most everything else I got good swindles on.

Not to get in the middle of this but ive personally decided to take the CC route also-got an offer in the mail, got it approved, and im just waiting for the info/card to come...Youve just gotta do like Frank said-pay it off everymonth no matter what.Just call them and have your limit lowered if you dont trust yourself, which i have the same problem Ramos..If i see it and want it im gonna buy it-hahaha anyway maybe a good idea to stop the "bidding courtesy" and return to good old friendly competition..Were all buds here and can do this no prob-no need to get ugly-This is the cool board remember -BTW Happy Turkey day!!

The CC way is the only option for me being International and it is certainly a trap. I am focussing on keeping spending to a minimum at the moment to get some breathing space and wipe my CC debt - then act all grown up after that and keep it clean. It's easy to just grab stuff online with a CC as you don't actually see the cash leaving your hands at the time.
