If there's 10 of these for sale and 10 of us waiting for it, it's all good. Now that you've declared your love for them to the whole world, there's going to be more than 10 of us interested in them. You've just fucked yourself and the rest of the 9.

It's pretty simple really: I read and write stories about toys and try to post info where it seems appropriate. I'm getting the sense that except for the 1 PM, most people don't find it appropriate here. So, lesson learned. Given that most of these toys are made in extremely limited quantities, usually hyping a toy up on the day of the sale is a no no. Afterwards talk away, beforehand no. It's ok to talk about toys, it's ok to blog about them, just given the fever pitch these have created recently, there was no need to call more attention to a new sale of them. Unwritten rule here. It's hard enough to track them down trust me. Usually everyone here abides by the "you snooze you lose" theory. Even though they may not be open to American buyers, I'm sure others in Japan don't want more attention brought to their already slim chances of getting one. That's all. Chris

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
Speaking as someone who has a toy blog as well, I don't think there's anything wrong with posting about upcoming toys that excite you. I think it is your constant posts about drop time, run size, etc. with giant images and garbled translations that have attracted the ire of members.
That being said, people have done this before without similar comments. We're probably just extra grouchy because these have been especially hard to find.

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
My big issue is if you're going to claim to help people by giving them information, at least give them CORRECT information. Posting something on a blog, then constantly changing it as you "fact" check from a bbs (and still not getting it right) doesn't seem like a great idea.

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
I finally got my space trooper - the 1st version I pre-ordered from Japan a few months ago. It's a very cool toy but I agree with those who say it's very pricey given the size. And I agree with the people who said that it reminds them of the type of dime store space-dude you might pay less than a dollar for back in the day (albeit this one is far more nicely made).
I'd like to get more of these but at 70 to 80 bones a pop (after paying the buying agent) - it's tough to justify.

I appreciate the offer Spence - but I think I'll just drink heavily to dull my pain rather than sell Trooper-dude now that the damage to my wallet is done.

I want these to be released in standard size - and to be priced the same as these minis!

 Re: Toygraph Space Troopers
I'm reviving this thread just to say the prices for these little toys are absolutely ridiculous in the secondary market. I mean I think I saw the last two on evil bay go for 190 and 230 respectively? That's straight up retarded. I like the aesthetic and the 50's space toy approach to these guys but having more released or forth coming has done nothing to lower prices. It kind of just killed even wanting one for me. If I want a 50's space toy in my collection I'll go find an antique one and throw it in. Probably would be cheaper anyhow...
