Its Siberian Iron Beast. This version is not out yet. I may be wrong, but I think its one of the 4 std size figure that you can choose when you buy the gigantic Zagora, again, just guessing.
There's 2 version thats already out. A purple one and another which is quite similar to the one you showed.

It's definitely one of the standard size figures you can choose when ordering the giant size zagoran. I'm a little miffed that ordering the giant size zagoran has ended it seems?! I thought it was open originally till sometime late September? I could be wrong though. I was seriously considering it and so were others I believe. Last I checked (before Shikaruna took it down) there were 26 open slots left.

I got mine...they may still be coming back up...there's something said about it being removed for some reason or another in the news info feed for the site...sounded technical, but the translation was garbled.

hey guys...hate to be dense, but does anybody mind giving an english-only homie the cliff's notes on the giant zagora? Just curious, mostly...but whenever I hear the words GIANT or ZAG...well, my hear skips a beat.

Thanks!

Shikaruna was offering a great deal on their website for awhile. You got a Giant Zagora they were in the process of making, along with a Standard size toy and a mini. For some reason (technical difficulties?) it's gone now. Thing is for anyone here in the states you would have had to go through Celga to order it. Original price was around 315 clams though. Here are some saved pics of the prototype I nabbed from the web (one is from KT's flickr- can't remember where the other two were from- here I think!):

That is so totally freakin sweet. I need to make the jump and get into the Shik. Problem is that I have NO skills when it comes to bridging the gap with japanese only releases...and I think setting up a Celga account would be more trouble for me than I could handle.

Thanks for the dish, though. Awesome photos.

Giant zag is back up on the Shikaruna site, as well as a second version.

Wow. So who will take the plunge on this big boy?

Hm, the mini will be a Bagun in the WCC style. I guess that means it is the mini version of the standard Bagun-2 (and not a new color of the mini Bagun-1)

I'd love to take the plunge but 315 is pretty steep to throw down all at once (even though it's a great deal for what's included) and lest we forget stateside and international customers would have to pay out the ass with celga/shipping fees. Still if the inventory numbers are accurate on the new and older version, hardcore Shikaruna fans (like myself) might actually have time to save up.

Personally that Dark Bagun that you can pick for the standard size figure is pants in my book.....sweeet!

Anybody else notice to super-duper similarities in the new Marmit Bagun (current S7 preorders page) to the Shik Bagun? Crazy, right?

They're both taken from the same original illustration, if that's what you mean. Otherwise, they're pretty different stylistically.

Marmit's "Sekai no Kaiju" pieces are really well done, I think. But for the Bagun and Zagora kaiju, I prefer Shikaruna's take on the creature. It's a little more whimsical whereas Marmit's stuff seems harder-edged.

At first, the Marmit and Shiharuna Baguns do look similar, but I have the black Marmit and metallic red Shikaruna and displayed together they each have the distinct characteristics of Marmit and Shik. but are so different in sculpt I don't know which I like better. They are both so nicely done. Does anyone here have the Target Earth Bagun for comparison?

Post Re: Shikaruna Koubo ID
thanks a bunch for the rad info, you guys. I've yet to get my first Shik piece...mostly because (I guess) I haven't taken the leap into the 'agent' buying from Japan...maybe someday. I'd definitely like to see the two side by side, so if you have some pics, that'd be totally awesome.

FWIW, I just can't believe how awesome Shikaruna is (read: seems, see above :)) and the prospect of the Giant Zag or even a Giant 4-arm Zag is just incredible.

I'm planning a trip to Tokyo next May, and I'm hoping that their shop/HQ is within my range while I'm there.

Thanks again. :)

Wow. Now that I see them side by side...nothing alike. I never realized how friendly and garga-like the Shik Bagun looked. Which is weird, because it doesn't at all...until it's next to the Marmit one. Which is fucking beastly.

Thanks a bunch for the Pepsi Challenge shot...funny what your mind's eye will do with no hard reference. :)

I wish I did. You'd think they'd be easier to find with 50 supposedly made.

That's what I was thinking. There hasn't been a peek of the Target Earth Bagun since it was released. It's hard to believe that a member here didn't score one if there were 50 produced. My source informed me that they sold out almost immediately. Oh well, add another to the next-to-impossible want list.

Just keeping on track with this thread, I ordered the darker color giant Zag and it is supposed to come with a mini Bagun and a random standard size Shikaruna. Drooling with anticipation...

I also found it strange that I've never seen a Pilot Ace Bagun pic posted by a member here. Perhaps we should start a "Wanted: Pic of Pilot Ace Bagun" thread in Show your Collection? Maybe our brethren in Japan all picked one up and love it so much they won't put one on the secondary market. Anyone anyone?

There was one that went up on YJA. I don't think the auction was won by a board member.

Thanks for the heads up about these being relisted. I was really mad when they disappeared for a few weeks. I ordered the green giant Zagora and chose the Siberian Iron Beast as my standard. I think that is one of the best sculpts and paint jobs of any vinyl out this year (although the newest version has some wicked paint).

I also got a line on a giant zag...the green one. My 'buying agent' (friend) said that the 'bonus figs' consist of the other standard/mini zags pictured next to it at this link...is that not the experience you all are having? Or maybe the deal is different for the black zag vs. the green zag?
