Post Anyone see this book yet??
On the SB website (among other places) there is a book titled "Underway is the only way"
and looks like its worth the buy with talents like Guy Aitchison, Luke Atkinson, Paul Booth, Aaron Cain, Mike Rubendall, Yutaro Sakai, and of course the man himself Jack Rudy. I have a ton of Tattoo's mostly Bastardized Traditional Japanese and I know the business well. This book is sure to slay. It looks like Grime (very sick Tattoo Artist) had to do with the cover art but no mention if his artwork is in the book.
I dont know much about the other artist's but if their grouped in with the artist's listed above I'm sure they are top notch as well.

10 x 12, softcover, 320 pages with tons of full color photographs and illustrations.
Roughly costing $60.00 U.S.

I wish Guy would start working again and not just doing the tours and workshops.

Corey millers interview in this book is very interesting as he talks about his fame post "La ink".

Grime rules.

How is no one mentioning the fact that Filip Leu is in this book, the man is God when it comes to tattooing, nothing against Jack, who is the man in his own right, but not many touch Filip.

The whole list of artists is pretty spectacular..

Chris O'Donnell (did my left sleeve)
Troy Denning
Eddy Deutsche
Brad Fink
Timothy Hoyer
Marcus Pacheco
are all amazing artists...

I just noticed that they also put out a book on Horiyoshi III, who is also God when it comes to tattooing.

If I had the money I would be traveling between Japan and Lausanne, Switzerland getting tattooed by these to gentlemen(Horiyoshi and Filip). Christ they would have to peel my body suit off and hang it in a museum...

Yup, Grime is pretty Badass. I'm suprised John Montgomery isnt in there somewhere, his traditional is so bright and clean.
I think Aaron Cain's work has to be one of my favorites (for me) though. I cant say enough about his work and of course I'm not comparing him to any one else, his work just really speaks to me. Paul B. is sick as hell also but his art is more satanist and I'm not into that on my body, plus his wait list and rates are crazy stupid. There all top notch (the ones I know of), its just a case of different strokes.

the leu family gets plenty of coverage. I think it's nice to see interviews with some of these other people. Although I love that for years the leu family literally tattooed in a hut out in the open. Photos of that era are pretty spectacular. Was is filip or felix that has the death during the tattoo session?

I haven't read the Pacheco interview but I'd like to see where he disappeared to for so many years.

As involved in the industry as I am, I'm suprised I havent heard of the family Leu. Cannot wait for this book now, bunch of new artist's I have never heard of (actually may have seen their work and just dont know it) and the interviews with them. I'm very happy I bought this.

Aaron Cain (and his machines) are sick.
I still hope to get a piece by him, maybe sleeveomatic style.

Yeah Aaron is sick for sure and his website really defines his work well. I dont know much about the equipment these guys use but I have seen a few guys at tattoo conventions using really wicked and crazy looking equipment.

I'm not sure how many of you have had access to tattoo artist magazine, but the issue where Cain and Grime do the full sleeve in one sitting is outrageous and amazing.

Anybody else work in the industry ever? I ran a shop for 4 years. I know Hank knows the pain of scrubbing tubes. I know L'amour has been close to apprenticing. Jessie o? Anybody else?
