Yeah, I have to get this. All of this company's releases are great; really well done. Just picked up Terror of Mechagodzilla this weekend. I wish they'd get their hands on Godzilla vs. Hedorah.

Unfortunately, all of the films on this set suffer from bad compression and aliasing. What's worse, is that the US version of RODAN and the Japanese version of GARGANTUAS look horrible -- taken from prints that are sub-laserdsic quality. Really shameful. Meanwhile, the Japanese version of RODAN and the US version of GARGANTUAS look great, but still suffer from compression problems. The documentary, jammed on the same 2-layer disc as both versions of RODAN, and also suffers in image quality.

Sloppy job all the way around by Classic Media.

As for GODZILLA VS. HEDORAH, it's already on DVD from Sony Home VIdeo in a BEAUTIFUL-looking DVD. Sure, it lacks the American International Pictures' dubbing and song ("Save the Earth"), but that's because Toho wouldn't allow them to use it -- they're afraid that the people who originally did the dubbing are going to come out of the woodwork and demand residuals. The same is true for Media Blasters' releases.

Classic Media, on the other hand, owns the US versions of the films that released into perpetuity, so its on them, not Toho. In fact, one of the people who worked on releasing these, was going around and contacting some of the original voice dubbers and was asking them to wave their residuals, so they could put these out.
