 Re: GBU YJA Mutant Head...
I'm mostly annoyed because there are no complete sentences in all but a few of these posts.

 Re: GBU YJA Mutant Head...
Thanks for the post Stealthtank. It is nice to see people look out for each other when shit like this goes down. I'm happy to report that I was outbid on this auction so all's well in that dept.
Outside of Stealthtank's info re. this situation though there's no doubt the nature of this thread has quickly devolved into nothing more than a bunch of gossipy bullshit which does nothing to help what-so-ever. Bunch of fucking hens cluck cluck clucking away.

 Re: GBU YJA Mutant Head...
i have found this thread a bit bizarre from the get-go...
there seems to be way too much conjecture,,without any real back-up..
first off,,why would somebody bother to bootleg an already very-hard-to-find figure?? an unpainted gid mutant head is worth about as much (or more??) than the painted...
in mook terms,,the version in question is a regular release while the unpaint gid version is limited...just doesn't make sense,,unless someone suspects that the mold has been bootlegged ( a whole different story)
if somebody could confirm that the header shown MIB in the auction was the correct header for that release,,then it would definitely influence in either direction the shadyness of the seller (bootleg paint or not)...

This figure came bagged with the tag shown and that is apparently the correct header as well.

Answer: Since the Kozik x RxH releases, unpainted GID figures aren't as rare anymore, UNLESS bagged. Even then, you can kind of tell the OG unpainted GID vinyl is a bit more off white. This GID Mutant Head has been passed around like the village bicycle for about the past 6 months. Now someone's decided to bag it up with an original header too. The old school RxH tag included doesn't mean anything either. When Stealth and I showed pics of this figure to Mori back in April when we visited the shop, he indicated it was not an original RxH release. It was obvious that he was also trying to be very cautious and polite so as not to insinuate that the seller of this figure had anything to do with actually CREATING the bootleg. It felt like he didn't want to start any fingerpointing, if the seller did not know it was only a custom. This was Stealth's point earlier in the thread, and ultimately likely why he got his money back. The purpose of this thread was to inform other serious collectors that this figure has a controversial history. It seems like the figure has now been bagged to try to further its legitimacy, which is a bit troubling.
