Looks pretty good with the helmet off as well.
Did anyone win the one-off solid color that was on YJA?

Can't go wrong with clear vinyl with pipe cleaners along with painted armor, gloves, boots & a fucking awesome helmet. What a GREAT looking toy! If I was a kid this would be the beginning of a slippery slope for me. Thanks for posting!!!

That's funny, they mixed the packaging up. M101 George should be clear and M102 Jack should be yellow.

Good catch Koji. These are way better with the chrome. The first showing of these featured painted silver heads. Chrome makes a big difference... cometdebris wrote: That's funny, they mixed the packaging up. M101 George should be clear and M102 Jack should be yellow.

the new jack and george are so tempting... must resist. the gargamel versions will have to due. I do like the gargs better, but these could be very cool companion pieces.

Re: Convex x Secret Base x Tomy Takara
the microman figures are appealing. and seeing a lot of these toys all together looks cool, but the sculpt is pretty boring. if they didn't do all the homages and add-ons, I wouldn't even bother to type about them. the clears do look pretty good though. however, the smiling face is less complex than this bob's big boy.

I would like the orange one, and the re-issue figure sitting next to it. Maybe just the re-issue hahaha.

It's fair to say you think it sucks because you don't like how it looks, but maybe you should learn more about what it is and what it is an homage to so you can 'wrap your mind' around it. end of line....................................................

Re: Convex x Secret Base x Tomy Takara
I scored the clear green one with helmet/gear and pipe cleaners yesterday at SB, freaking soooo sweet, it is really very nice, a great line. Good stuff. Great size. Very kawaii, which is fine with me!

Just for reference sake, Nerdone had a photo of those HiroGrimm figs from Wonderfest 2004

Re: Convex x Secret Base x Tomy Takara
the clear blue and clear orange convex figures are for sale in the Secret Base store. (physical, not online yet).
Got the blue one on Tuesday. at $75 retail, couldn't afford to get the orange one too...

I can see where you are coming from, but it's still a nice figure. But it suffers from the problem Microman figures always had. Some people saw them as low-rent Henshin Cyborg cousins. Other saw them as knock-off space toys cashing in on Star Wars despite the fact they predate that. To me, they were the last pure non-promotion-tied-in Sci-Fi toys that were made. Yeah, a bit of a stretch, but the size, design and concept would never fly nowadays for many reasons. Blah, blah... They should do a modern re-issue of the Acroyear Amazons + their beasts. Those figures can please the Kaiju lovers and old farts like me.

Re: Convex x Secret Base x Tomy Takara
I think the microman ones are so killer...and will prob, buy one if I can get the money together for it...
I understand not liking it...but calling it the worst figure ever seems a little harsh. I think these kick ass.
