Nope. They are enoki mushrooms hence the version name.

Enoki and Shitake are two tasty shrooms....sauteed with garlic---yum!

Hmmm... I dunno. Toygraph makes up a pretty large part of my collection, and they make some of my favorite classic (goji/gamera/hedo) toys, but I might have to see this one painted before I get excited. Maybe I'm just a traditionalist. Give me mushroom-head matango any day. We'll see, though...

Who is Yamada Masami? He's referenced in the Toygraph blog post, but I couldn't find sufficient information on his relationship to this mushroom man.

Yea -- Would definitely like to see better lit photos (that seems to be Toygraph's thing as of late) and some paint applications before deciding whether I like it or not.

Wow I'm surprised some of you Matango lovers don't like this...I'm not bowled over by the proto pic, but since it's toygraph I'm confident the end product will be sick.

Hehe...the venerable M1 has friggin' eyes...and heads are worried about whether this thing "looks" like a Matango or not. C'mon!

I, too, love Toygraph...but I'm not particularly thrilled by this sculpt at all. Just doesn't look particularly interesting enough. Not...mushroomy enough! Then again, if they give it a good enough paint job...and make a glowie of it...I'll bite.

For me the head on this one is just.... uninspiring. Too symmetrical.. its just blah. The body tho I like.

I like it better than the Marmit Matango, but it can't touch the M1!
