You'd think he'd maybe play to a wider audience and give it the skull paint. But then again, whatever. What I really want to know is whether the hatch opens and if there are 'cockpit' details, etc. The MAK universe is so awesome...I'd love to see vinyls of some of the armored suits created. Those recent Marmit 'Alien' shots from SF got me thinking about that...would be so cool. Awesome link, Rog. I got 5 on it, if you're down.

Well, there were some large 1/6 vinyl kits of the SAFS and Melusine made, and TTToy (the guys who make Grus and Prodon) made wind-up Raptor and Melusine toys that are kind of fun.

Yeah, I have a few vinyl toys and model kits, as well as the awesome (japanese-only ) encyclopediae detailing all the different makes and models...it's just so hard to find, well 'more'. And, I guess it's worth saying, you are (I am) automatically suspect of the stuff you DO find that seems a bit TOO available...I dunno. I'm rambling. It'd be really cool to see an OFFICIAL release of some kind on these toys as a line vs. the one-off or two-off products that happen. Seems like the cross-section of folks that are into this is so micron-thick that you get one or two odd kits or figures and then poof. Gone. Forever. The books, though, are absolutely stunning...some awesome photography from (I assume) Kow's original dioramas. Amazing paints and 'effects'. Serious time and love spent on overall craft. I think I might have seen one or both volumes at Kinokuniya across from S7 when I was there last. Super gems.

I have to get those books one of these days, they look incredible. Someone on the Ma.K mailing list said that they're going to be translating the modeling book.

So here's my asset of assets in the SAFS/MAK world. Robert Kampf.: http://www.roboterkampf.com/In heading back there for the first time in a few months, I note that he's letting us onto some screaming deals at Hobbylink if you're into that sort of thing. I myself had a few CASES of mini-figs in my cart until I realized that the shipping would eclipse my cart total. And then I remembered spending 25 bucks on molded foam balls at the grocery store last night so I restrained. Check it out here if you're interested though. The Halloween 'screamers' are especially choice: http://www.hlj.com/maksale.htmlPS. They (Hobbylink) have those books as well. Huzzah.

It was a gift from someone in Tokyo, he got it from Kow.
I met Yokoyama-san at Wonderfest last summer. It really was my worst stuttering sweaty fanboy moment ever and my friend from Wave had to bail me out.
