Yes they do, at least the ones at the top of the party.

Look at the tireless work of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton after their administrations. These men (and thousands of staff/volunteers working with them) have dedicated their lives to improving the world. Are they rich? Yes, but that doesn't discredit all the good they've done.

What a big surprise, McCain is going to show up to the debates!

I found it really awesome how almost every person that was involved with the "emergency meeting" yesterday said that John McCain almost didn't speak the entire time. Obama started it off and almost ended as well, but he decided to ask McCain what he thought. He said a few sentences that didn't make sense and that was that. It is very obvious to me that was nothing but a PR stunt. He wants it to seem like, look at me, I put "country first.". Bull shit, you put yourself first. I love that he suspended his campaign yet he was still doing multiple interviews, still taking donations and stuff running ads on tv. By suspending he just meant an attempt to get out of the first Presidential debate so he could have a few more days to try and brush up on economics. I had heard that people were urging McCain and Obama not to come because they didn't want the unneeded press coverage making it more stressful. Yet McCain insists he can make it better. The opinions are even more divided now!!! I truly hope he doesn't show tonight, that will be more landmark type shit.

Jack is very cool and unafraid to speak the truth.

He speaks his mind at the end and slaps down Wolfie who attempts to defend Palin...

I vote because it is my right to do so and I hate the mess that the current administration has gotten the country into..."change" may be a word that is run into the ground over this election campaign, but it is what I'm voting for because the status quo is not working. If I thought a third party candidate might have a chance in hell of winning, I'd probably go that route; however, the system isn't set up for that and voting that way to make a point is not going to help things.

The system definately is not set up for voting that way. If this fictitious bullshit of one party is better than the other is the illusion they want to pull to make the general population feel like they are on a "side" that is better than the other and shuts them up for realizing there vote will not make a fuck of a difference thats fantastic. As long as everyone is bickering and arguing over crap thats fine. Oh and "undecided" is the new black and they feel like they are the smartest most open people in the whole damn world beause they need to "get the facts" before making their decision of the two shit parties.

You know what I want to be able to vote on, fucking going to war, a fucking government bail out, shit that fucking matters when it comes up. Give me a test of 100 questions that I have to get an 80% or better on to make sure I understand whats going on and soon as I pass let me go vote on the issue, no need for some dipshit to be in there voting on important shit just because they were popped out in a country.

Not pre-determine that some fucktard is going to be able to make the right decision for everybody at the time of the crisis because he somehow has convinced me he is more experienced or because he is affiliated with the cool kid club I have associated myself with.

Obama seems to be the more diplomatic of the two and McCain seemed very set in his ways and not open to a new way of thinking at all, unlike he has hinted at prior. At this point I am willing to risk everything and go with obama, whats the worse that can happen, he is going to make the tailspin we are in go faster, which why delay the inevitable, or he will pull us out of it. McCain is going to just keep riding that tailspin at this steady pace until we smash into rock bottom, telling us war stories the whole way down.

I never thought I would say it but Obama made more sense to me.

Still that was pretty minor compared to the bush doctorin fiasco.

I stayed up to watch the first debate, thought it was pretty uneventful, like they said there was no knock out blow. I was expecting Obama to own him.

Still it would seem the VP debates is gonna be the main event- should be a real blood bath. Infact it wouldnt susprise me if the people pulling the strings flare up some international crisis in the middle of next week to prevent another outing of the Palinstien monster.

I like how McCain was 'escorting' her on the last interview I saw. Can't wait for Thurs. At her debate bootcamp, they have probably implanted remote controled electrodes in the pleasure & pain receptors in her brain. "OK, Sarah. We are going to ask you about fiscal responsibility again, and if you talk about excercising more often, we will zap you again."

I swear Sarah Palin can not answer a question. She sticks to the script.

I'm curious. Do they even have internet in Alaska? They probably get yesterdays news. Alaska is such a secluded place. I think if the United States were to fail Alaska would still be okay. They're not dependent on us.

Christ that was painful to watch. She'd do herself some good just to stick to short responses or one word answers. She gets presented with a question, panics, then babbles.

UNFIT!

She reads ALL of the magazines and newspapers! She is the most well read politician in the world, all must bow down to her vast knowledge on the topic of everything.

My favorite news outlet The Guardian had this to say about it:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/oliverb ... sarahpalin

Quote:

Sarah Palin reads the Guardian — official!
The vice-presidential candidate reads "all" newspapers, she claims

In the latest instalment of Katie Couric-induced TV torture, John McCain's running-mate is asked to describe the newspapers and magazines she reads and replies "all of 'em", which therefore, following a logical process of reasoning, includes this one. Commentators have pounced on this interview excerpt because it looks as though Palin is unable to name a single newspaper or magazine, but really, it's clear that she simply doesn't want to offend rival publications by singling the Guardian out for praise. (A sensible precaution during an election campaign, of course.) According to high-level sources, Palin especially enjoys the cryptic crossword, the Saturday book review and the Country Diary, though she does feel the Sports section's dog-sledding coverage leaves something to be desired.

Pretty funny I thought. :D
