I just hope it's GID vinyl poored in! I know I'll regret passing on the unpainted, but I can't buy everything and like the detail in the painted one more.....aw crap I might do it anyway! fel9 wrote: Okay, how do we go about getting one of these....I have often admired the suits, but haven't yet bitten on one....I have some nekkid cyborgs that need some new duds... It's pretty easy to order from SB, go to "order" hit "English" and follow the directions.

 Re: Phantom for the Halloween
Are these on sale now, or on Halloween? And it does indeed look like clear orange vinyl with GID on the inside!

I couldn't tell, I sent in an order either way. Are they orange? They looked alittle more yellow to me..

 Re: Phantom for the Halloween
Yeah... its GID paint application inside the clear orange suit... as per Japanese description.
5500 - unpainted 6300 - paint

mezza9iner wrote: GID paint application inside the clear orange suit I was always very suspect when people said it was GID vinyl poured inside clear vinyl. Paint makes much more sense. Unfortunately I'm worried about it scratching off the inside surface what with the inner heads, and putting the chest piece over a body, etc. Still, really looking forward to these!

Paint makes much more sense. I thought so too, but I remember mentioning it once and Koji saying it was vinyl (on the thrashout hedorans) because (perhaps at the time?) there wasn't GID paint good enough to pull it off. Booyah - EDIT - viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11541&hilit=gid+inside Scroll down a bit to see his response.

 Re: Phantom for the Halloween
I think its the sort of the thicker & dense GID paint that you can find in a diy store mainly for Halloween decor. I tried that on my clear vinyl, it dries off forming a thick rubbery layer & it doesn't scratch a bit...

I've always wanted to do it myself, but was never sure what to use. There's a ton of (more common) clear unpainted figures I'd LOVE to see this on. I'm guessing Gargamel used vinyl then and SB uses paint now. Such an awesome effect, it's my favorite gimmick and it's totally under used. On the other side, I'd hate for it to be an over saturated technique.

 Re: Phantom for the Halloween
It's too bad they never did a repo yellow Walder body like in the pictures, that one's a vintage. The unpainted one on a black BXH Walder body with glow guts would be very Halloweeny.

 Re: Phantom for the Halloween
No offense to Hiddy, but NOTHING SB has done in the last year has excited me this much. The new messed up Mantis is getting me hyped though and the new FC Toxic Phantom suit. I had to go for both, these are just too good, can't wait! I kind of want to go nuts and try to get ALL the Death Phantoms, but I'm a realist not a completist and don't think I have the energy for that mission. This is "Toy of the Year" material right here. I'm so getting into the Halloween spirit now!
