Some of you know that I searched high and low for an Anraku Dako in the vader version for a very long time, about two years (I know this is not a long time in vintage circles :) ). Last year I was offered the re-issue version of the figure and it was the best purchase I could have made.
I look at this guy every day, I carry it around the house with me sometimes, and it's a great feeling to get what you want after searching for a long time. This is really what true collecting is all about for me.

This photo includes my other favorite toy right now, a US Toys Glow Booska mini. This toy has been on like 4 trips this year, and I sometimes keep him in my bag just to make me laugh when I'm having a crappy day.

Nice trio Glen! The Blueglow Victim is one of my favorite resin pick ups this year and that Marusan Garamon is a killer!
Is that your space?

It is Ice indeed. Monster Hero rules! All three figures rule.

The photo was taken at my loft (cave).

They're Japanese mad scientist toys, these ones were never released in North America.

Where did you see them?

These figures were sold at Japan in 1986. They were made by a company call MA BA which was a company made by MATTEL and BANDAI. Mattel was releasing their MAD SCIENTIST toy line in Japan and this was a Japan only project called MAD SCIENTIST "ZOMBIES". As you can see the sculpts are extremely well done but you can notice that they look nothing like the MAD SCIENTIST toy line.... I think that it might have been a separate project by Bandai but since it was using slime they put it in the MAD Scientist line ...

The 5 figures shown in the picture are from the 2nd series. There was 3 series in total and each series had a different color. The first six were purple the second six were yellow. and the third series had two purple and two yellow figures. There wasn't a fourth series but there was a playset that came with an ultra cool pink demon figure.

As part of the MAD SCIENTIST toy line these came with slime and small pieces which would flow out with the slime when the figure was squeezed. As you can see from the photo the grim reapers eyes were his pieces that would be pushed out by the slime.

you can see detailed pictures of the series at this Japanese website

I crave that GID U.S.Toys Booska mini something awful, I'll bet it is a great little guy to keep around at all times like that, he looks likes he is ready to give you a big hug.

Ted, I agree about the M1 Mongler and Gorgos minis, I think they are easy to pass over as the characters themselves aren't the most popular, but the minis are so charming.

Patiently searching for a long time but finally found this little guy. Atease is right...it's getting it in the end that makes your heart warm.
However... The vader Dako is another thing I have been looking for. To the point where I have even taken it out of hte want list thinking I will never get it.

Joe, those spanking leathermen are great. I have the green set. When did the dark grey come out?

Thanks for the link Bape! I actually remember a lot of those toys from my youth. I still have 2 blurp balls (displayed). I have the frog and the pig, but don't have the mouth ball thing for the pig. I also remember playing with the "Zany Zone" guys and the "Barnyard Commandos." I bet they're still at my grandma's house somewhere. I might have to go on a toy hunt. Hmmm.....
