I think that one isn't actually from the first 50, I saw it show up on charactics with a bunch of other hobbycon kobe stuff, so it's probably a hobbycon doral. I passed on it, but got two zags, one of them being a one off. The yen decimated my wallet though.

It's definitely from Kobe Hobikon as were the new Zags, Maity's, Baguns, and at least one Chiwos that I know of. Updated the database.

Can't say for sure just yet. We'll have to see if others turn up. I know the Zags that went up were not one off's. Here is an interesting twist that someone might be able to shed light on. Does anyone have any production run numbers for anything Shikaruna has produced that is gold paint based? I know of a Zag, Maity, Chiwos and Dororu so far. Either way they're definitely shorter runs if not one off's.

I do not understand...what is the difference between buying one that was bought direct from the festival for 12000 yen & buying one that was bought from a shop for 16800 yen??? Either way..buying off yja,,you are paying inflated prices & fattening a flipper's pocket...there is really no difference...no??

Whoa!!! Did anyone see that. Superfest 47 one-off Dorol appeared for 30 minutes then gone. ( not to be confused with the charactics flipper that was caught in the act , he's is still there) Buy price 30,000 yen. It was beautiful. Thought I wanted to copy the pics for Lixx database...but gone. Anyone here got it?

I'll post pics of Zen at some point (or email them to someone to post).
Since Lash didn't want the Kobe anymore I grabbed it, overpaid but screw it.
Thought I've seen a few of those Charactics Zags on YJA are people certain those'r one offs?

wow...some of you people are paying as much for their dororu's as i payed for all 3 of mine....I had no idea these would be such a hot item, i hope it doesn't affect the prices of other shikaruna pieces.

Share your source and keep secondary market prices down (or cockblock yourself more likely).

I'm a patron of the artist, have been for several months, so i knew about it before most others, and that helped. I'm sure in the future getting Dororu's will be just as difficult for me as anybody else. I really hope that difficulty doesn't extend itself into his other sculpts.

Thanks for letting me decide to pass, I will for sure return the favor if its presents itself in the future. But man, you could have waited it out a day and saved over close to 2 hundred bucks. Sweet score none the less and enjoy. This sculpt is on the same level as the 2 headed bemon figure to me. Cant wait to I score my own.

Re: Shikaruna Koubo Dorol Handpaint Database- post your pics!
To be a completist of most companies is a fools gold sort of game. Especially companies with a wide array of sculpts. Unless you have a serious disposable positive cash flow in your bank account (cc cards will come back to haunt you that's why I don't own any and pay as I go) it could be a long arduous task indeed (both financially and emotionally for you and everyone around you).
I think it's ok to collect a sculpt or two and try and "get them all", but for the most part I'm discovering that it's a very boring route to take. Trust me I've been there. Some of the collections I admire the most have a variety of sizes, sculpts, and different companies. This is just my personal opinion, mind you and not directed at any one person. I've honestly never understood that "gotta have everything right this minute" mentality. Sure we all have that moment but sometimes you just have to sit back and breath.
Even though I love Shikaruna, I think I'm done with them for a long long time. We've all seen it before here on skullbrain. A company gets hot, every posts pics and drives the hype into orbit (I'm just as guilty of this- and like Krudler mentioned you cockblock yourself) then suddenly everyone is competing for the same 3 pieces. Also this isn't the first time Shikaruna has been hot, I recall when the Gaezals and Garumega's first appeared ( last spring/summer?) everyone wanted a Garumega (myself included). It's just their output has been staggering and with Real X Head dying a slow death from overhype, Troopers on the wane (are they?), combined with their really amazing sculpts/paint jobs it seems logical. This is no diss on Shikaruna or the collectors of Shikaruna, just a warning of financial ruin for people who are not wary. There will be others, the company is not going anywhere.

At the point where you decide to 'want it all' financial ruin is kind of a moot point, is it not? You are obviously already thinking irrationally, you're already at a point where you're just feeding an addiction. I will never make back as much money as i spent on my collection, and really i don't see myself ever parting with it. My only problem being finding a coffin big enough to fit myself and all my figures... That all being said, it never hurts to step back and "reset" yourself out of a buying frenzy....but often its too much fun to give up.(unless you have to) Right now I'm limiting my buying of shikaruna pieces, only because the Canadian dollar is absolute CRAP right now, and if it doesn't change soon my whole hobby is at risk, im paying over 40-45% over what i way paying 2-3 months ago, and it's killing me. Those two zags cost me my left nut. Really if i wanted to 'avoid financial ruin' I would stop collecting kaiju, i would stop posting on SB, but I am happy with my addiction...it pleases me.

Plus my internet is dead so I can only be online at work atm. I didn't want to BIN it if you were going for it but once you had passed and after seeing Andy's pics of the Kobe Sofubi table it seemed like it might not appear again. The same guy fuj****** keeps taking them that high (30000 + yen), consistently. I probably screwed myself out of $200 but watching these on YJA that bidder pops up almost every time.
