Rubber Novelty Items; Adults Only (Choking Hazard)
Hah. You looked! In Japan, if your manga or anime sucked and only had 2 episodes, somebody still made a full line of eraser toys out of them: About 2 years ago someone sent me a small orange baltan as swag w/another purchase. I had no idea. Started looking around and researching and now they're taking over. Obviously, I'm liking the kaiju and the yokai best. Esp. the old ones with flaking paint! But there's some love for kinnikuman, gundams, voltons etc. because they're cool and because they had roots that influenced new generation kaiju designers. The new releases and bootlegs seem to be more of a vinyl and rubber mix; they'll hold an edge better but are far less springy and chewy. The two guys on each end are for scale, you can see that they come in a real variety of sizes. If anybody actually reads this far, I'll be happy to try for some closer shots or even scan the little bastids. Edit: Well, I re-did the 1st shot and added 2 closeups, bit of a cheap splice job on one of the closeups, heh. Prolly about as close as I can get with this P&S 6Mb cheapie.

Kanegon makes the best keshigomu ever. The black Kittyfire is cool too.

Wow, incredible collection...I have a few kaiju erasers, but had no idea they came in such variety and sizes.

Yup, this is about half of what I have, with more coming, not to mention the ones I sent out as swag. Since you guys are so kind as to respond to an admittedly fringe thread, I'll re-order them and re-shoot and see if I can get closer on some. Earthquakes? Heck, I have some sort of motor thing; hand tremors. 42 years of caffeine and nicotine have not helped this. Setup took 2 hours. Would have helped if I hadn't kept changing my mind about the back rows. They're a lot like dominos that bounce.

I totally understand the motor thing, I hate trying to display anything with 2 legs and no tail I shake so much these days. Dont even get me started on minis let alone keshigum, they would all end up in the trash or on fire with my patience. Not quite 42 years but close! But I substituted LSD for nicotine.

Some of those look really good with spray. I also like the big flesh Antlar.
What is that in the bag on the top row?
These seem like really odd things to enjoy, but I had a bunch of dinosaur and Dragonball keshi and gachapon toys when I was a kid and loved the hell out of 'em. There were some epic battles with my bag of tiny, unpainted Dragonball figures.

I think that I'm just starting. YJA is so full of variety in these and old minis that I just sit and stare sometimes. Prolly trim out all the excess by putting in as swag on deals here and doing a couple of YJA style big pile of eraser sales (elsewhere, don't worry!). Then I'll buy more. They put the singles in little crack bags. Awesome marketing.

And yeah, if I were a kid again, the eraser collection would be trash by now; battles, firecrackers, slingshots, parachutes, torture and execution in the microwave! I really was a nice kid, actually. And I think I have 1 maybe 2 dragonballs; a bunch of demons are I think Fist of The North Star, but not sure.

Awesome man, I love these things also. I just scored the m.u.s.c.l.e. man ring. I am still waiting for it to come in the mail. I had tons of them as a kid and now I am re-buying them. I love them and the s.b. erasers I wish more companies would release them Super7 and gargamel erasers would be awesome. I know garg had some at sdcc but they were sold out when I went by the booth. Awesome collection man...

Pickleloaf is right, LRG has awesome depth for these little predecessors of the fight figures. They don't even post by pic or title half the time. They just call out the serial numbers. Scary but true. Does anybody know if the Garg erasers at SDCC this year were based on their earlier akuma series? Still looking for those.

I'm really interested in the larger ones...especially the Dodongo and Beetlar! ...I always choke on the small ones.

Nice ones, Joe! The best erasers really have some very crisp detail in the sculpts, yet are rich in cheddary goodness and funk. Don't know how they get that stuff to release from the mold.

These lil' guys are really cool. I am always tempted to grab a few of the weird ones when I see them in shops, but I just know I will go crazy on them and won't be able to stop.

Ok Steve, you've rekindled my love of the little guys- I used to have quite a MUSCLE collection, now its just these few guys (including the ones you packed in with my Gargamel minis!) After reading this thread, I went over to ebay and bought myself a Jet Jaguar eraser toy to add to my collection. =) phil

And Scapegoat; don't sweat the price, buy what you love. Besides you can get these things by the bucket on YJA. Seriously, the biggest problem is recycling the extras you pick up when you're just shooting for a couple to fill in the holes! REdYOdA; As above, got my big ones as a set on YJ, even have an extra now for trade purposes.
